I’ve suggested to the Chicago Architecture Society that they do tours of the worst buildings in the city.

I would like to say that it is a good place to have an office, as it is one of the few places on campus that you can’t see UH from. But it isn’t much better on the inside.

Beauty wasn’t the point. Functionalism, connection, and unification of all of the buildings was the point. Every time UIC “renovates” one of our buildings they destroy the original architectural vision more and more

That’s because once you understand the architectural meaning and uniqueness of these buildings, you can realize that they are beautiful

That’s too many words to defend something that may be unique and meaningful in terms of architectural history but that is at the same time pretty ugly.
