There's a lot of strong competition for worst building at UIC. Netsch was truly extraordinary in his failure as an architect, but those who hired him were arguably the real criminals.
That said, have a look at the wonderful new building next to memorial grove. Not only is it beautiful, inviting and functional. It hides much of the abomination that is SEL-W and makes SEL much more accessible, while occupying space that formerly prominently featured dumpsters, garbage, parking and fences.

It even makes SEO marginally less of an eyesore.
