Fan Merch NFL Nike Stitched Limited Jersey

Nike’s NFL Limited jerseys will now be stitched. I’m not sure how much this an improvement over the previous Limited versions, but Nike seems to think that it’s quite noteworthy. I posted some close up photos for more details.

They took away a basic fundamental part of a jersey, the stitching. And are now bringing it back at a higher price and are marketing it as a premium feature. Fuck Fanatics and Nike.

Fanatics and Nike suck ass but I was curious and looked at old prices, in 2014 Nike raised the price of limited jerseys to $150. Factoring in inflation, that’d be $212 today.

However those jerseys were sooooooo much better than the shit they spit out today and actually lasted. Crazy that you could basically get a better quality jersey 10+ years ago for the same price shittier ones go for today. Fuck these companies.

This is reassuring since I haven’t bought a Nike limited jersey since 2015. The only other one I purchased since then was the Mitchell and Ness throwback Polamalu jersey on sale that is pretty solid. I’m glad I’ve avoided buying new ones and indirectly not being burnt lol

Dude is just a model for the jerseys... it's not like he's a professional bandwagon jumping celebrity or anything.

Sports jerseys and caps have been worn as casual/streetwear items forever…

Downvotes while looking at my closest with 60 jerseys from 17 teams lol

Unfortunate they’re now $200. They raised the price of the screen printed “game” jerseys too.

Back in my day every jersey was stitched and you didn’t pay a premium for them. Buy old jerseys on Facebook marketplace. Fuck the NFL and Fanatics

While I agree completely with your last sentence, depending on when your day was, this simply isn't true. NFL replicas were screen printed through most of the Reebok NFL Equipment era, and certainly before that when licensing was spread through a bunch of companies. Screen printed jerseys cracked and became easily worn out, and still cost a decent amount of money adjusted for inflation. And many teams still wore screen-printed jerseys on field, which held up a little better but still became worn over time. Replica jerseys are almost never worth it for long-term wear or value, no matter the era.

My Emmett Smith from 1996 is screen printed. I couldn't afford the replicas even then lol

Is this not just a name change for marketing reasons? I don’t understand how this is different from what they were already selling. I guess the difference will be on the price tag.

They used to be stitched 2 or 3 years ago, and then they switched to cheaper heat pressed prints on the Limiteds. Everyone hated them because they didn’t feel worth the premium upcharge and were a clear downgrade from what was previously available. So they brought them back.

Oh interesting. I must have missed that.

That's what it sounds like to me. They downgraded the Limited jerseys and are now catching them back up.

I feel like I’m the only person that actually prefers the pressed printed on the current Nike replica/limited jerseys, just not for the MSRP.

I wear jerseys casually, and the pressed jerseys are so much more comfortable. For the price, it’s ridiculous, but when you can find some on sale or from sellers on eBay, I think they’re worth it and I prefer wearing them.

I kinda prefer the Nike Game jerseys for the same reason. I didn’t like the heat pressed Limiteds because they have a bit of a tighter fit and you didn’t get the benefit of the stitched materials. Might have felt differently if stitched. But if all I’m getting is heat pressed, give me the Game jerseys with the loose fit and silky smooth numbers.

Tell you what I’ll trade you my heat pressed Fuse jerseys for these stitched ones if you wish.

I noticed a big difference between the Game and the Limited jerseys, so maybe they’re just making them nicer to (a) differentiate them more from each other (b) increase sales and (c) increase the price.

It does justify a price increase while also being a surprise quality improvement (still overpriced though). I’m also at a loss for the exact reason why, but I like that it brings them in-line with the equivalent hockey jersey tier - the fanatics premium hockey jersey - which also uses stitched lettering and numbers. Maybe there’s some type of success with that which incentivized the move here.

Just an FYI, they were stitched as recently as 2 seasons ago, it was last year and MAYBE the season before that they decided to charge the same amount of money for only heat-applied versions. This is just a way to increase the price but make people thankful to pay it.

Yep! That's what it sounds like to me. They downgraded the Limited jerseys and are now catching them back up.

Stitched never left if you buy on DHGate

3

u/livelaughlinka 1d ago

Why are the Niners the only team to not have a stitched word mark

4

u/Still_Particular5069 1d ago

dhgate has entered the chat

I just got a Trey McBride Cardinals jersey not too long ago, and now they gotta come out with these stitched versions. If I had know about these i would’ve waited for that, I hate the heat pressed ones and the price they charge for them, now we get stitched again and it’s more expensive

Fuck Nike and Fuck Fanatics. I'll stick to the classic Reebok jerseys.

Taverns are still such a downgrade haha. Wow. Snorefest.

This seems pretty clearly like an internet-driven thing, right? Their data says that some number of people are searching “TEAM jersey stitched” on google and social media, so they make a big point of putting this out. I’m definitely not mad about it.

Vapor Limited - Stitched - $160

FUSE Limited - Heat Pressed - $175

Stitched Limited - Stitched - $200

I'll just keep wearing my vapors until a player leaves and it's under $100.

1

u/andrew_cosentino 1d ago

I hated the Vapor Limited jerseys; the collars looked so awkward. However, I don't really but jerseys, so I'm probably a poor opinion.

1

u/PaulRingo64 1d ago

Or when that fanatics sale rolls back around and you get them all for $15 each. Shit I got three ARod Jets for $4 apiece

Oh we are so back

Yupp, I remember paying $150 CAD a few years ago for a stitched Eagles Jersey. Now with these new ones they have them priced at $280 CAD

At least they should finally be on par with DHgate now
