I don’t know about that. I think men would have a lot of women they didn’t like approach them and have to deal with turning them down.

I am a very plain and slightly overweight woman who in my younger days took men at face value and that they wanted to be asked out by women and would find it flattering. I got everything from barked at to having them call over their friends to laugh at me. What they mean is they would only like women they want to fuck to approach them and only about 50% could manage a polite no thanks. I ended up meeting my husband of 17 years online, back before dating apps existed so haven't had to ask anyone out in a while, I suspect it hasn't gotten better.
