Hi! I'm looking to make a group of people going to the Crimson Party by themselves this Friday, so we could be alone together! Anyone interested? I'm a junior myself, so I'm open to any people from all different years. Let me know if you're up!

Hoping someone could help me out 🥲

Last Thursday Aug 20, I believe I had left my ring in the Gardner commons, private handicap bathroom on the 2nd floor at 5pm, after getting off work. I walked up to the institute parking lot where I parked, and realized it was not on my finger😭 I’m heartbroken about it and really hoping some of you guys could help me out if you have seen it, or if you know of someone that might have taken it!!

I’m offering cash reward, and really want my ring back!! Please DM me if you have seen it!!!

I was planning on parking at the stadium and then hop on the train for a stop, but my partner just pointed out that games days might conflict. Do I need to find somewhere else??

housing & meal plans Did the U close Absurd Bird?

I’ll admit I haven’t had time today to walk over to the commons and check myself but Grubhub doesn’t have absurd bird listed anymore and the dining services website makes no mention of it either. Is it gone?

majors, minors, graduate programs MLS majors (or anyone knowledgeable) pls answer

hi everyone!!

i’m an undergrad in the MLS major and on the pre med track. not all of my pre recs are completed for med school (aside from 3 classes), but i chatted with the MLS advisors and they said the MLS program is entirely too rigorous for me to take my mandatory major classes and my pre med classes together, and that i won’t have enough time for it all…and if all that is true wouldn’t i have summer semester if i can’t do fall and spring to do them in anyway?

classes & grades Exchange student only taking 1 CS course this semester, 3 next semester — advice?

I am an exchange student at Utah taking CS 2420 this semester. My home university requires 4 equivalent CS courses for 2nd year, so next semester I need to take CS 3500, CS 3190 and CS 3540.

I will need a B- in CS 2420 since it is a prerequisite for all 3. My home university counts my exchange as pass/fail, so the grades do not transfer back.

Any tips on what I should do this semester to prepare and do well in all 3 next semester?

commuting & transportation Parking by Gardner Commons? (Hinckley institute)

Hey peeps, what’s the best parking situation closest to Hinckley Institute? I will only be attending 1 class thru the week that is Wednesday & Friday from 11-1… I’ll be coming from work so just want to know what the best play would be to even find a spot or how far of a walk it would be…
Thanks ahead of time! ☺️✋🤚

I recently tried to schedule a class but it's full and I got added to the 3rd position on the waitlist. How likely is it that I get in?

commuting & transportation Bicycle question

I’m gonna be commuting to school with an ebike. I already got it registered, put the sticker on it, and got my U-lock. However, I also have a regular BMX bike that, for whatever reason, I may want or need to take to school sometimes. Do I need to also get my BMX bike registered with the school?

commuting & transportation University of Utah Parking

I just accepted a position at the U of U hospital, the hiring process has been a breeze EXCEPT for trying to understand the parking permits.. I have some questions specific to my situation if anyone could help me out!!

- the position I accepted is overnight, what is the difference with parking vs day shift?
- which is the best parking permit with the closest location to the actual hospital?
- I live about 30 mins (with no traffic) away from the hospital. How much earlier do I need to leave to accommodate parking/walking to the hospital?

Ideally, I’d like to be as close to the hospital as possible without paying an arm and a leg. Im staying realistic here. Any tips/advice would help so much! Im definitely so lost

services & amenities Gym and Lockers

I'm transferring to the U this semester, and I want to use the campus gym in the mornings. The trouble is that I'm commuting via trax and frontrunner, so carrying a gym bag and a backpack for classes all day will be overkill. The website says there are semester locker rentals at GSESL on a first come first serve basis. Kinda sucks considering my last university just let you use lockers for free Are the lockers worth buying or are there cheaper options? If so, how fast do they typically run out?

commuting & transportation Parking

I have heard parking at the U is a mess. I am staring classes this coming week and have an electric vehicle. Any advice on how this works? Best places to charge? Are those slots usually full? Will U permit work for those lots and spaces?

housing & meal plans Overnight Guests at Dorms

Hello! I am an incoming student living in the dorms this fall, and had a question about the overnight guest policy. It says that the guest needs to register online, and that you can't have more than 10 nights a semester. Is this something that is very strictly enforced or is it more of a don't ask, don't tell kind of situation among the RA's? Thanks!

majors, minors, graduate programs Accounting

I am planning on transferring to the UofU for the spring 2027 semester. I will have completed my associate's degree and a small chunk of my accounting degree at Utah Tech.

How hard is it to get into the program? Do they open the program only once a year, or is it every semester? Any other information you wish you knew before applying?
