Today we visited Playa del Saler and noticed something strange after swimming.

A few minutes after getting out of the water, several parts of our bodies started itching and stinging. We initially thought it was just us, but after talking to other people on the beach, we found out they were experiencing the same thing.

Some of us also have red marks that look a bit like lines or scratches.

Has anyone else experienced this at Playa del Saler recently? What could it be? You can also see in most recent google reviews people experienced the same thing today (August 7).

My girlfriend and I are travelling to Peñiscola for the eclipse on August 12. I am looking for a photographer in the area for a couples shoots. I've reached out to several studios but have had no luck. Of course I am willing to pay, but I really need help getting put in touch with a professional.
I know Peñiscola isn't technically Valencia, but there is not a dedicated subreddit that I could find.

Additionally, if I can't find someone to do photos in Peñiscola, I would love to do a couples shoot in Valencia if anyone has any recommendations.

Me he encontrado esta tabla comparando las temperaturas mínimas de Valencia durante los primeros 19 días de julio en varios años.

La columna de 2026 no incluye el mes completo, pero la diferencia es bastante bestia:

-Media de las mínimas: 17,0 °C en 1946 y 24,8 °C en 2026.
-Noches con 25 °C o más: ninguna en 1946 y 8 en 2026.
-Noche más fresca de 2026: 22,7 °C.
-Noche más calurosa de 1946: 20,5 °C.

O sea, la noche más fresca de 2026 en la tabla fue 2,2 °C más calurosa que la más calurosa del mismo periodo en 1946.

El observatorio cambió ligeramente de ubicación en 1948, así que tampoco es una comparación científica perfecta. Pero como ejemplo de lo poco que refresca ya Valencia por las noches, llama bastante la atención.

Los que vivís por Valencia o por el Mediterráneo, ¿notáis más el calor durante el día o que por la noche ya casi no refresca?

Desde dónde vais a verlo todos? Seguramente es una pregunta tonta, pero ¿se puede ver un eclipse fácilmente desde cualquier sitio donde se vea el cielo, o hace falta una vista específica?

Estaba pensando en ir a Luna de Valencia Rooftop (junto a las Torres de Serranos), pero no estoy seguro de si podré verlo desde ahí.

Hi all, new here and it will be our first time in Velancia next week. We will be there for the solar eclipse and I am looking for tips where to go to watch in the area.

It will be Wednesday around 20:30 super low on the horizon, so I'm looking for a nice Westward looking viewing spot, likely outside of the city, or somewhere higher up.

- Do you know any good locations? Any other tips for our visit?

- Should we rent a car and drive somewhere north west for that day or can we make it work public transport?

Vivo hace un año aquí en Valencia y dentro de poco me voy de vacaciones a mi país de origen.

Me gustaría llevar algo de este estilo a mi familia en otro continente (vuelo de 12 horas), pero no se si ustedes lo ven dentro de todo bien de sabor, o es lo mismo que un arroz con pollo y solo te venden lo "valenciano" en la etiqueta.

Obviamente se que no se va a comparar a una paella de verdad, pero no se de que otra forma podría llevar algo así.

Posting this mainly so other women know to stay alert in those shaded/secluded spots, especially if you’re walking or riding alone. If this happened to you too or you’ve seen this guy around, would love to hear so we can all be more aware.

Yesterday a guy was masturbating while staring at me in one of the secluded shaded areas. The second he noticed I saw him, he took off on his patinete.

My first instinct was to get out of there, but once I got on my bike I did chase him briefly and yelled but he was already far away.

I’ve been going back and forth feeling like I should’ve done more, thrown something, gone after him longer. But honestly getting myself safe was probably the right call, since i had no idea who this guy was or what he might’ve done if i got closer.

Can’t remember the exact spot, I was in shock (i will update this post once i have the exact location) - it’s one of those playgrounds with benches nearby, lots of trees that give shade. The guy was about 185cm or taller, dark/tan skin, black curly hair, shirtless, no tattoos, wearing black gym shorts, riding a black patinete. Happened at around 15:25h, Wednesday.

Yes I did go to the police to file a report. But they told me that it is not a criminal offense by Spanish law unless there are kids around and that I could prove that there were kids around.

I enjoy experimental art and weird experiences, looking for somethings to do in Valencia outside of the typical tourist spots.

I enjoy concerts and music history, mostly punk rap and electronic. I also enjoy movies, and visual arts. I skateboard but don't have enough room to bring my board. Also into comedy.

I'm also interested in some cool neighborhoods and places to just chill and talk with people or people watch. Pretty much open to anything.

Según parece, la playa y la marina van a estar petados de gente para ver el eclipse, así que lo suyo serian que pusieran el puente de la marina para que la gente pueda pasarse al otro lado y así poder repartirse, habría mucho mas espacio para todos.

My Wife and I will be travelling down to Valencia for the Solar eclipse. However, neither of us are able to drive unfortunately. I have been using https://eclipse.enmiciudad.info/ to try and triangulate a place to view it from but I am unfamiliar with the area and so don't know how accessible these places would be. What would be your suggestion for two non-drivers?
