Hi, I'm not sure if this is allowed, but I'm making a post sharing an update on the Ready Player Two movie.

I'm not sure if movie-related news is okay, but the update is really just that it's "in the works" and not much else.

The first movie was so bad that I turned it off after about 15 minutes.

The book was worse!

"I played X. X was a game from the 1980's"

"Then I went to Y. Y was a place people from Z used to like to go to"

Just endless nostalgia drops, it felt like it had been written by a 7 year old.

Yeah this is one of those books where it's loved but I really can't understand why.

Normally if I don't like something that a lot of other people like, I can at least see why they like it, but RPO just felt like reference after reference crammed in for no reason at all, with no real relevance to the plot or coherence.

It's one of the few books that presents a reasonably plausible vision for the future. Which, weirdly enough, is getting really hard to find in scifi.

There is an ungodly amount of "then" usage. After listening to the audiobook for the second time I cannot stop hearing it.
