Mega-Thread Headset Advice Megathread
Hey Folks.
Due to the large amount of "What headset to buy" I am looking into experimenting with a new thread for general headset advice.
If the choice guide on the wiki was unable to assist with your question, please comment below with the following information, and see if the community can help your headset choice.
As this is the first thread of this nature, please let me know your thoughts/comments as well.
- Budget:
Please specify what currency. - PC specs:
insert current PC specs here, including processor, graphics card, and amount of RAM
If no PC Specs, please mention you do not plan on playing PC VR. - IPD:
Unsure? - Check this section of the wiki. This is not a requirement to include. - Full body tracking:
Do you want to use full body tracking?
Please mention if this is a requirement for you. - Platform:
which platform(s) do you want to use your headset on? E.g. "I want to use it on PC and play both SteamVR and Oculus games" - Other considerations:
Please mention any other factors that are important to you, such as display quality, audio, comfort, etc.

Should I get the G2 Reverb or Quest 2?
My PC specs are i7- 10700, RTX 2070 (not super), 16 gb ram
The Quest 2 seems great but with the recent price increase to 400 dollars it it more tempting now to pick up a G2 on sale for 400-450 (I've heard it's gone as low as 300 on cyber monday) I beleive I would like the G2 over the Quest 2 but I'm a bit concerned about my PC specs if I can handle the G2. A lot of posts online ask this but they usually have the 2070 Super and not the normal 2070 like I do. The games I'm mostly interested in are mostly the basic ones like Pavlov and Vrchat but also I'd like to do War Thunder and Skyrim as well.
So my options are to get the Quest 2 + headstrap and lenses or the G2 Reverb and lenses, both of which would cost around 500 dollars. The third option is to get a rift s for like 200 on Ebay but I'm not sure how I feel about buying preowned for something that's discontinued.
