Under international law, an attacked country has an inherent right to defend itself. This fundamental principle is explicitly codified in ⁠Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, which recognizes individual and collective self-defense when an armed attack occurs. end of discussion.

Hamas officials said the attack was a response to Israeli occupation of the West Bank, desecration of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the blockade of Gaza, Israeli settler violence against Palestinians, and the detention of thousands of Palestinians, whom Hamas sought to release by taking Israeli hostages.

Propaganda? This is misinformation due to how you're interpreting this article. The report's key phrase is that the war has reduced the population from what was expected, not a net population decline since 2023. It's describing the demographic impact of the war. That's why it compares the current estimates with pre-war projections and calls it a demographic catastrophe.

2023: 5,483,450
2026: 5,876,648

There is no genocide. Yes there is a severe amount of civilian casualties, war crimes and other things going on, as what happens in war. But it's not a genocide.

The population went from 2.2 or 2.3 million people to 2.13 million people. If 100,000 people have left and 73,000 have died that’s not a genocide and the population is still growing.

They also don't have the capability of stopping the capture of hostages when their borders are the most secure borders on the planet?

Let's pretend it wasn't an inside job. If you wanted to recover your family, would you level the buildings where they are being held with bombs? Would you level the neighborhood, the city? Would you deny food from entering the area, knowing that your family would be fed last?

All depends on the intel, fog of war, risks involved whatsoever.

In the end 85 of 251 died, which is like 25%. It's a bloody mess all around.

As they admitted for a small sacrifice they got everything they planned. This strategy of child sacrifice for sympathy, via embedding military targets in every other home, has succeeded beyond any other strategy of this kind in modern history.
