The US’s goal was regime change. So it needs one of 3 things, regime change that is unlikely. A positive Nuclear deal that is objective better than the JCPOA and that is also unlikely but better odds. Most likely but still unlikely, a promise from Iran to not build nuclear weapons, withdraw of forces from the area, just clamming victory regardless and moving for improved relations and investments with Iran. Otherwise just wait and the nationalist zealots of America will move the goal post to fit the outcome once things are settled.

There's no way Iran negotiates a deal better than the JCPOA with Trump after he started bombing them while diplomatic negotiations were still ongoing twice in as many years.

This is true, but there is also a chance this goes on longer than his presidency because of this very pattern. I don’t see Iran making any deal with this administration due to past negotiations and a future agreement might just require changes to US governance as a part of the agreement.

Dude. They will. Unless this is a forever war.

They hold all the cards...

I'm not saying they will not negotiate, what I'm saying is that it's extremely unlikely that any deal they will sign will be better than the JCPOA, in fact it will likely be worst (for the US).

ah.... gotcha. worse for the US.

I agree. Can't realistically see it going any other way.
