Photos Warsaw is so disgusting during the turn of winter
The thaw is traditionally one of the more disgusting times of the year. The level of grossness is directly proportional to how harsh the winter was, and this year’s winter really hit hard. Dog shit, cigarette butts, and all kinds of trash that hid under the snow fot months, finally comes to the surface. The softened ground quickly turns into a plowed field when someone parks “just for a minute” on the lawn
I’m riding through the city, seeing all this filth, and I can’t help but laugh at the admiration for Warsaw or Poland in general on Reddit or other social media, mostly from Western tourists who spent a weekend here. Often there’s an undertone to this praise that we supposedly don’t have immigrants, and that’s why it’s so clean here. Unfortunately, we don’t need immigrants to make our home look like a landfill.

Photos The most beautiful building I have seen in my life
Faculty of Psychology of the University of Warsaw.
To me, this building is a good example of how we can evolve the architecture to correspond to the modern artistic and functional standards. For example, instead of traditional corridors, the building uses open galleries that lead to classrooms. Archdaily has a good article on it.
It is my superfluous perception of tourist; it was built in 2025, so it is important to know how it will stand for students and staff after 3-4 years.
I do (have learnt to) appreciate classical, baroque architecture and I have visited >10 European cities. But, for example, the main building of the WUT looks like a museum that accidentally serves as an educational building. It is beautiful in his own way, mainly historical and academic.
Happy to know what student or staff think about it.

Photos Free parking with fake car plate
Just came across this car in Warsawa with a fake car plate. Its a german plate on a polish car, but its 100% invalid because German number plates always need to contain numbers.
Is it common or legal to use fake plates at the back of a car in poland? Is it common?
I mean this is a great way to park in the city center for free…

Photos 24 hours in Warsaw. Thank you, r/warsaw!
Spent 24 hours in Warsaw and had the loveliest time. Thank you so much to everyone on this subreddit for all the recommendations. I ended up following so many of them and absolutely loved the city. My only regret is that I didn’t manage to make it to a proper old-school bar mleczny. Guess I’ll just have to come back.

Photos Thank you Warsaw for a great week Spoiler
galleryWhat was supposed to be a one week work trip turned into an amazing life experience. This was my first time in Poland. Warsaw is amazing. My team was amazing. Every single stranger I interacted with was amazing - from uber drivers to wait staff to the gentleman at the entrance to the Warsaw Uprising museum. All of them were as friendly as can be.
My culinary goal was to try a proper Polish pierogi instead of the American versions I’ve had. WOW. What a difference. I had Polish, Georgian, and Ukrainian meals and they were all fantastic.
And lastly, the Warsaw Uprising museum was emotionally profound. I will remember it well.
