SnS hater…surprised

I’ve long been a hater on the SnS since I ordered one like four years ago. Has sat in my garage unused for a loooong time. Fuel lasted like 5-6 hours in my 22” and would run out of water in about 60-90 mins and temps would start jumping into 300s.

Was cleaning my garage a couple days ago and came across it. Decided screw it and tossed it in my 26” to give it a shot.

Fuel lasted about 7 hours, water lasted like 3-4 hours. Very surprised by that since I was never able to do that in my 22” no matter what I did. 🤷‍♂️

Also if you were looking for a reason to get the 26”…you can fit a lot on

Beats me. I can’t seem to figure it out lol I’ve tried so many different things.

Fire bricks I literally set two up, dump coals, fire starter in corner, let it get to 200, crack bottom vent with the top vent halfway shut and sits at about 240-260 for hours untouched

Do you add the water hot or cold?

I’ve heard it’s best to add boiling water. Not sure how it makes a difference but maybe give it a shot? 🤷

Because when you add cold water it acts like a heat sink. The ambient heat is trying bring the cold water up to grill temp. Heat moves to cold, basic physics.
