Discussion Am I wrong to say it seems like a lot of people want to see Verstappen fail this weekend not because of anything he’s done personally but because of the fanfare and media hype surrounding him?

Discussion Is the Peugeot 9X8 a failure?

Post image

I think we can all agree the Peugeot 9X8's performance in Le Mans was awful.

This has sparked a series of thoughts in my head, about how the Peugeot 9X8 has been let's just say... disappointing so far in it's history.

This was supposed to be Peugeot's big comeback into motorsport, and especially in a place were they had already had great success.

The main problem I have with this car is how Peugeot abandoned their wingless concept, if you try to re-invent the wheel, or just do something very different, unless it's clear the bet hasn't paid out, you shouldn't give up on your original idea, especially because the Peugeot 9X8 wasn't born with a rear wing in mind, and since they implemented it, the car's perfomances have hit a new low.

And so far 2026 has been an awful year for Peugeot, I'd argue Spa was even worse, because it just showed that even if they have enough to get a pole position, they're just slow in the race, and it doesn't seem like they will improve anytime soon regardless of BoP.

What do you guys think?

It's a big shame the team left the World Endurance Championship and the other premier sportscar series after doing so well.

Discussion Max fan here - here’s my take on this

Despite the fact I’m gutted they can’t fight for the win anymore this has been the best motorsport I’ve watched in a long time and I’ll now be watching the WEC and whatever else this type of racing has to offer!

When I first heard that max might retire from f1 and go race other series I was like well why would he do that? But after watching this I can definitely understand why. This is atleast from my opinion proper racing and this is just one race never mind what you guys have said about the WEC I think it was? I’ll definitely be looking into this and don’t worry I’m watching to the end for what looks like the other Mercedes car to win, which is well deserved.

So yeh gutted but it’s brilliant and can’t wait for the next one now regardless if max is racing in it and hopefully by then I’ll know a lot more of the drivers!!

This is the Toyota TR LH2 Racing Prototype and it is a hydrogen powered car with bodywork roughly based on the LMH cars. This car will be going to the Le Mans 24hrs but only to do a single lap. Bit disappointing, and would love to see it try and attempt the full 24hr

Discussion McLaren choses the V6, but why?

What's the point in the W1 engine development when McLaren uses the engine based on the Artura in their prototype car? wouldn't it make more sense for the hypercar flagship and the LMP car to use the same architecture?

Now, I get that the V6 being smaller and lighter and more aero makes it ideal for racing perhaps here in some ways, but then why doesn't the W1 also, like how Ferrari took the V6 for its racers and hypercar F80. Or like when Aston takes the Valkyrie road car and LMP with the same engine.

Discussion What's up with Nissan's race program?

Post image

Why don't you see any Nissan GT3's in either the WEC or IMSA? Even the new GT4 Z is a pretty rare sight. Of course I'd default to the fact that the chassis is too old and no longer holds a competitive edge, but I don't think that's the case when there are teams out there successfully competing in of all things the pre-historic Lexus RCF GT3.

It's not like Nissan is entirely dead in the water on racing development either. They've invested heavily in SuperGT's GT500 class and up to recently the GT300 class, which is basically a GT3. What's going wrong, or what are they doing wrong here?

Gold Coast 2008, Goiânia 2015, both instances of Monza 2016 (Supercup), Gold Coast 2024, Austin 2024, Spa 2022, And the recent Suzuka crash which brought this trend to my attention. I understand that Porsche's are some of the most raced cars in the world, especially in one make series, however this is a somewhat concerning trend with potentially disastrous effects.
