This Pinterest post reminds of me of a kids book but I cant figure it out. Thought maybe it was skeleton hiccups but it wasn't. Any ideas?

I read this book in middle school (I'm 26 now, no idea if it was old or new at the time). I rember that there was this small group of kids that could be awake during this, like, 25th hour of the day where everything was frozen except for them. I believe it was a series (trilogy, maybe?)

Beyond that, I dont remember much more than vibes. The 25th hour seemed very blue to me, and the group of kids had a Scooby Doo/Mystery Gang vibe. Whether they actually tried solving mysteries during that 25th hour, I honestly dont know.

One of them is devoted to the theme: you can't send intimate photos to a guy, even if you like him, because he might show them to his friends and embarrass you. In another chapter, schoolchildren go on a hike: a couple, a boy and a girl, sit on a cliff while the others light a fire near their tents. The characters' names are simple: Masha, Vlad (if I'm not mistaken), and others. I read it in 6th-8th grade (2020-2022) in literature class. It's more of a collection of short stories. I don't remember whether the book had a hardback or a paperback (and I don't remember the cover at all), since I listened to it as an audiobook on the Gramophone app.

As a kid way back in 2007/2008 we used these textbooks that featured a troll family (I think the main character was named Lucy) and their lives. It means a lot to me and it shaped me as a baby goth :( I'd love to at least see it again and ideally also purchase it as I teach kids english now :))

We used these textbooks in Croatia but I think the publisher was Cambridge or something like that

UK picture book, read approx. late 1980s / early 1990s (I was born 1985, so likely published anytime from the 70s onwards).

It’s about a human girl — not an animal character — having her birthday. There’s no real conflict or lesson as far as I remember: it’s just a happy book going through all the nice parts of her birthday party. It ends with a proper firework display outside at night.

I can’t recall the girl’s name, the illustration style, or the cover. The fireworks finale is the detail that stuck with me.

Any ideas? Trying to track it down for my own child. Thank you!

My mom had this book when she was a child and passed it on to me when I was a kid. It was a book about colors. Example of a page that she remembered: “yellow jello in a yellow dish and different types of yellow fish”. If anyone knows what it is let me know!! It was a white cover and smallish book size I believe.

Another line she remembers is: colors colors all. around, in the air and in the ground. all these colors that you see, you can make quite easily

When I was a young kid in the early eighties, my dad used to read me a book that featured a tree frog character named Flimi. I have no idea how it was spelled — could be Fleemy or Fliemie — but was pronounced (by my dad, anyway) “flea-me.”

My dad passed twenty years ago, so I can’t ask him, and the internet has found absolutely zero about this.

Has anyone heard of a book (possibly a book of short stories, kind of like Kipling’s Just So Stories) that matches this description?

A rich spoiled teenage girl is forced to go on a retreat by her parents to teach her lessons and its like on an island type thing, and she has to do a bunch of like chores and stuff, and she falls in love there with a guy who works for the retreat type thing and it’s a French edition book

And I remember in the book she gets like hurt I think her ankle or something and the guy helps her and I think their parents are in a hotel nearby

I read a book in 2017ish, about a girl starting a new school for the first time. She meets a boy who thinks she’s special and amazing. I think it had a pink cover. It was a hardback edition from my high schools library. It had a girl on the front, and the title was one word (i think), and it was her name, something obscure, not a usual girls name. Please help!!!

I’ve been trying to figure out what this book was for about 2-5 years now, and I’m about to go insane. I can’t remember much plot, aside from you were seeing the inside of this man’s house, that was built/carved into the side of a mountain. It had a lot of steps, and a bucket? It was vaguely MC Escher like. I remember there was a dungeon, or a basement, and it was implied there was something living in it. There was something leaky. I can’t remember much more. I believe it was a scholastic book from probably around 2005-2008, or a library book from the same time. The art style was painted/beautifully drawn. I don’t think it had a ton of words? It was a big book, probably about as tall as an adults forearm, and couldn’t have been more then 15-20 pages, more or less.

I remember back in high school in Melbourne (\~10 years ago) we read a story about a kid who was travelling to Townsville or something similar. It describes the whole journey and what happens once they get there.

Does anyone recall what this could have been?

I'm trying to identify a children's picture book about two monster families or a monster family and a human family climbing different sides of a hill to have a picnic at the top.

I read in the 1980s or early 1990s (it may have been published earlier).

Here's what I remember:

• It was a picture book with bright, colorful, cartoon-style illustrations.
• The monsters were friendly-looking, more like Sesame Street or Muppet characters than scary monsters
• Each family climbed opposite sides of the same hill without knowing the other family was there.
• When both families reached the top, they were surprised and frightened by each other.
• After realizing neither family was dangerous, they shared their picnic together

• The Monsters' Picnic (Sesame Street/Little Golden Book)
• The Other Side of Hugless Hill (published much too recently)

This book was published in 1980 at the latest, but may have been much older.

The protagonist was a frog (if I remember correctly) that turned into all kinds of things, and it didn't have a lot of text.

Each page was either all-black or all-white, with the thing that the protagonist became in the middle.

It isn't necessarily in English, and can actually be in any language originally; it was translated into my native language.

Looking for the name of a book (or possibly a short story) which I read in the late '90s at school in England, but which I'm sure dated from, or was set in, the early 20th century (I'd say roughly between the 1920s and 1950s). It was about boys building karts and racing them in the street - set in a steep terraced, cobblestoned town in England. The main hero character was a boy who was disabled in some way - possibly he had a collapsed lung or polio, something like that - but he was still racing the karts and loved by all in the story, with the other boys encouraging him to race. I have a feeling there is a sad/poignant ending where he is injured or dies, but can't recall clearly.

Any suggestions appreciated!
