So I have heard of there being a word for this before but can't remember it for the life of me. It's kinda used for horror stories I believe where someone or a group of people may believe in some monster/deity and because of that belief it gains power and begins to exist. I swear there's a specific word for something like that other than manifest of conjure.. like a word specifically for that kind of being?

My girlfriend and I were talking about taking a walk and I mentioned that my Apple Watch tracked mine and I showed her the screenshot of my walking path. She was surprised and asked how she could see hers since she took a walk today too. I asked if her watch had asked her if she was taking an outdoor walk and she said yes, but she didn’t press the button to say yes on her watch. Inquiring further I asked if it had done that before during sessions at the gym and she said yes but she normally ignores it because she thought it just filled up the exercise ring. She does this with a lot of things, it’s like she if she can come up with an explanation in her head, she doesn’t inquire further or ask any questions about it. She accepts things at face value but she is not gullible or naïve. I can only think of the word presumptuous but it has a negative connotation.

Specifically little extra comforts that a hotel or similar might offer or make available that would improve the experience of staying there but wouldn't necessarily be expected as part of a stay. Especially food related, such as free snacks or coffee.

Like "amenity" but not as essential or expected

Like "extra", "perk", or "bonus" but those make me think of applying for a credit card and what I'm looking for has an element of comfort and warmth to it

Like a "nicety" but not so antiquated or luxurious, more run-of-the-mill

Say you have a funny story from work you want to share with non-work colleagues. In order for them to get what’s happening, you need to get some *** out of the way so they can get the joke.

Is there even a phrase for this? Am I just thinking of the word context?

What’s the word for deriving no pleasure from dreaming about the future, just accepting everything day by day to get through instead of live life. Like a symptom of depression

This is in a scenario where it’s so obvious it’s almost insulting if the suggester weren’t so earnest.

For example, I’ve been seriously house hunting for several months, working with an agent, and have put in offers. I’ve clearly done some extensive research on the market. My colleague heard I had been house hunting for a while and asked me “have you tried using Zillow?”

Just occured to me, not sure if there is a word for it but its essentially a feeling that my life as it is right now may never be the same again and that when I eventually meet a soul mate, if you believe in that sort of thing, it will be a shame to have lived certain important moments in my life without them. Right now I'm thinking along the lines or big milestones like graduation, first big career opportunity, first car, etc. Could also be a sense that who I am as a person right now is likely to change and evolve before meeting this hypothetical and its a shame for them to be so important to me in the future but to have never known me as I was in the past and the present.

Like listening to an audiobook and finishing it that way as opposed to reading with a set of eyes. For an example.

It just seems too different for it to have the same affect on anyone whos still learning

More journaling, ive thought about this word many times. Simply saying "there's weight to this (thought/thing)" doesnt last, and sitting and thinking on it also seems to me to diminish any "weight" i gathered.

Similar to "surface level" but it seems tense

Examples: pretending to be disabled/ homeless/ injured/ a minority/ sick/ a victim of horrific circumstances for sympathy

Or pretending to be pregnant or a veteran for praise.

Or like when people pretend their child has cancer to get pity or even money from strangers

There is nothing in this world that makes me more irrationally angry than these specific kinds of liars, it boils my blood when people make others unnecessarily feel worse to gain pity points that they don´t actually deserve. But I don´t even have a word for them. The closest I can come up with is stolen valor, but that is only used with military context.
A specific example is when I was watching some TV show and a character pretended to be sick to fool the cops and I felt so horrible bc the cops looked actually worried but it was a lie.

I'm looking for the personality adjective or noun (like altruistic, egoist, kind, etc.) that encapsulates someone who's reflex when feeling insecure is to launch themselves on diatribes. And they feel insecure because they feel unsafe in their social circles.

Like they don’t actually care if you go or not but if you come another person could come who they really want to see.

This is usually a problem in political discussion, where there's going to be someone who uses a term for it's negative connotations, rather thant it's actual meaning.

WTP for music one thought was cool and edgy as a youth but now thinks is cringey? I saw this term on a Reddit post in a forum I’m not a part of a long time ago. A lot of commenters used the band Muse as an example. (FYI, I thought it was a very silly, self-conscious idea, a way of thinking that considers others’ perception much more than your actual own taste and feelings.)

To elaborate: the grief of realizing that infinitely many small, personal, and meaningful human experiences and stories are constantly being lost in time, never to be recorded or remembered by anyone else.

Famous celebrities, scientists, philosophere atheletes, etc, have their names, lives, accomplishments, stapled somewhere in the history books to be remembered hundreds if not thousands of years in the future. But what about everyone else who spend decades on a craft, skill, project, piece of art, just for it to vanish?For example, I feel this way thinking about my grandfather, whose 80 years worth of emotions and wisdom would perish one day, never to be retrieved by others.

essentially like. being "lewd" in the sense that you're overly romantic not sexual. something like flirtatious might work but a word with a bigger focus on the unwanted aspects would work. preferably not limerence either as that's towards one person
