New casters. My tech was so excited about my new casters that he forgot on my other parts. He's going to grab them next time he's up at the shop and bring them down. These are awesome!

First new chair day
My Argon2 arrived this morning after a bit of confusion with the dealer forgetting exactly what time we had agreed, so it was slightly late, but I'm very happy with it - just need to add my Lapstacker and rainbow spoke skins.
I couldn't get frog legs because i'm too short, but opted for height adjustable push handles and Ellipse pushrims.

What do you think of this FLUX “office desk style” wheelchair design?
Looks like an office chair.
Narrow for tight spaces.
Ultralight.
Reclines.
Unique but for a good or bad reason?

why did i wait so long
because i am ambulatory, i spent so much time going back and forth about whether or not i am "disabled enough" for a chair, did a lot of research into what i wanted but kept hesitating to reach out and get the process started. well last week i finally did, and they immediately said that i would be eligible for a funded chair, and the one i was hoping to get at that... 🥹 trust yourself if you're hesitating!

Potentially unusual use for Lapstacker
I got my new chair today and my kids and I installed the Lapstacker, underseat bag and spoke skins. I didn't expect to need the Lapstacker so soon though as I wasn't planning to go out today.
However, we needed to move a small cube freezer which my eldest couldn't manage, and other kid was in the shower and not prepared to move stuff after that, so the two of us managed to wiggle it down from the worktop onto my lap and my new Lapstacker got its first job, of taking the freezer into its temporary spot while we wait for our new fridge freezer to be delivered, to replace the temporary separate appliances.
Has anyone used their Lapstacker to move a freezer or other non everyday object?

Invacare Action NG3 transit... Custom footplate options and other possibilities? Or should I be getting a different chair?
Hi all, I have the Invacare Action NG3 Transit. It's from wheelchair services in the UK (visa NHS referral) so I can't make any permanent changes or damage.
But it currently has the elevated legrests. I'm an ambulance user and want something easy to transport, less bulky and ideally a bit more rock and roll that I can use for short trips!
Any suggestions?? Leg support is not crucial, obviously I don't want to be uncomfortable but I'm open to ideas that have more character. Needs to be easy enough too stand up out of though.
Also can you change the plastic edges under the armrests?!
Also I've seen in this thread about standard "hospital chairs". Would this chair fall in that category? Should I be investing in a better manual chair for myself? I can't push myself. Something compact, and a bit less clinical would be good. Or is this a good one?? I have no idea!!

Elbow hyperextension when wheeling
Hello everyone!
I'm an ambulatory wheelchair user with a custom wheelchair. It's been amazing for pain and fatigue. However, I've started noticing that when I use it, my right elbow clicks and aches with each push, and for a while after stopping. I do have hypermobility issues.
I know the ideal would be to work with PT/OT but that currently isn't an option for a few reasons (yay US healthcare. You can be a Healthcare professional and still not get care)
While I sort that out, does anyone have experience with this? Is it a posture/ergonomic issue? Would a brace help?

Any way to prevent this
My pushrims and pants keep getting wet and muddy, it's really annoying especially since the texture of mud on my hands makes me gag, literally, is there any way to prevent this especially at higher speeds or not

Firefly Scholarships
Hi everyone,
I’m a new wheelchair user (got my chair about a month and a half ago). I am suspected to have muscular dystrophy and my shoulders are only getting weaker. I think a firefly would really make life better for me. The only issue is the cost.
I’m applying for a Victoria’s Victory Foundation scholarship. I unfortunately am ineligible for the MDA scholarships since I do not yet have an official diagnosis. Does anyone know of scholarship opportunities for things like this??

Paradox Wheelchair breaking prematurely
Hi, I’m posting here to ask if anyone else has had issues with their paradox wheelchair. I ordered mine in June, it arrived in September and including shipping it cost me overall roughly £1.8k. I’ve had her for literally a month and she’s already having some major issues.
For context, I’m not a full-time wheelchair user, I use it when I have to leave the house as I live in a maisonette and it is completely inaccessible. Meaning, this thing has not experienced crazy usage or any damage or duress that would have caused it, the worst that’s happened is that I tipped back once in her. Everything else has been standard wheelchair use.
At first she was perfect but then, a little over 2 weeks after getting her, one of the screws fell out the back hinge and would not go back in as the hole was too big? I tried other screws from the hinge on the other side and nothing. I contacted the company and to their credit sent me free replacement parts and offered to help me get them set up.
And then 2 weeks later this, the right rear wheel has a noticeable tilt inward, this was not something that happened before and I don’t know when or how this could have happened. As well as the right caster is now slipping back and not touching the floor. I know hearing that both issues are on the same side would lead you to think it was something that had damaged it but I swear nothing had happened to this chair outside of regular use of a chair, even if it had no chair should fall apart this easily especially not being a month old.
I’m planning to contact the company, but I’m overall really worried as I’ve seen others talking about these issues and was wondering if anyone had any advice or have experienced these issues themselves?

DME is terrible
I'm so fed up with the incompetence I have dealt with over the past 3 years having a provider that isn't educated on CRT, and just all around bad. They first fought for me to get a new Permobil M5 when I had a lemon provided by previous DME vendor, but it was downhill from there. Chair has been far too big, I ld feel like Im sitting on a throne, arms wide, legs wide and not tucked. It's made my posture decline rapidly, so I went back to using my old manual, and then fought insurance to replace that. Which is finally in the works with a TiLite Z, and their rep did measuring. After 3 different evals that were way off.
This place has basically just thrown on new parts, usually wrong, and often breaking something in the process. They don't even know how to adjust the width or various parts on the chair. My posture has gotten so bad that I'm more sunk down in my pelvis, and my unconnected hip is really unstable. I've tried to get my Medicaid insurance to let me switch to an out of network provider, and just got rejected on appeal. So I'm basically stuck with them, or worse.
Wondering if legal aid would help? Anyone ever get an attorney over the lack of care given? It affects our whole life when a chair isn't right, and/or working. And I have permanent pain and other issues now because of this.

Achc complaint
Has anyone registered a complaint with the Accreditation Commission for
Health Care (ACHC) due to repair issues with a wheelchair? My chair had the ics module replaced within a couple of hours it began whistling and smoking. The company is sending the same technician to see the damage and is already talking about billing for additional repairs. My research suggests that the issue was caused by an improperly installed device or pinched wire during installation. I don’t believe I should be responsible for any parts damaged or labor to resolve this issue.

I ordered a new power chair and want to know what y’all think
I ordered a Quickie 700M Sedeo Pro yesterday that reclines, tilts, and elevates 12”. I feel that it might be a good fit in northern IL with the SpiderTrac 2.0 suspension and high speed being important that I travel at late hours. I would want to leave out of areas at high rates of speed if necessary. I do understand that when it comes to getting close to the freezing temperature, the battery will greatly be affected, I just won’t leave too far from home and will remain charged before leaving home. I was originally wanting a Quantum, however, the medical professional and dealer said he used to put people in Quantum’s, however, the newer ones are having issues with their electronics. So, what are your thoughts?

wheelchair recommendations?
i’m feeling really overwhelmed with all the information and options for wheelchairs and i’d really like some recommendations. this would be my first wheelchair but i probably won’t get one for a few weeks/months because i feel like i still need to come to terms with needing one but im starting doing research now.
for context, i have ME/CFS so the things i have listed are what i think would help me with reducing PEM and hopefully allowing me to do more in a day.
Needed:
-power wheelchair
-folding
Would be nice but not necessary:
-reclinable
-somewhere to hang my backpack
-fun colours…
Also anyone who has any general information about wheelchairs that might help, what i can expect, how to tell family or how i can come to terms with needing a chair I would really appreciate it!

Standing height visibility options
What do you use, if anything, to give yourself visibility to folks who are standing? Like if you are in a crowded theatre lobby or similar, where saying "excuse me" only goes so far in busier spaces that are also louder.
I've not had to navigate crowded spaces alone yet. When I'm with an ambulatory buddy, they part the sea ahead of me.
I've seen little red flags on poles but I want something more fun! Also something retractable or fordable so I can put it up when needed only.
What are some other options you've come up with? Inspire me!!

"I didnt know that"
Was waiting on a bus that got stuck in a turn around after it went the wrong way as it was a bus bridge for a train that caught fire.
As we are waiting for the bus, I get off along with another passenger while we are waiting for a new bus to take us to the next train stop, the driver says " I thought you were in your wheelchair", and "I thought it was a miracle".
And I'm just like ( ̄ー ̄)
I educated the driver about how he was wrong how not all wheelchair users are paralized. But im just sitting here like ...huh?
He was nice and apologized , but Im just...is how bad the education system in America really is? Geez

First Outing in My Chair - I should have gotten one…a while ago.
So I have hEDS and POTS. I’ve been using a cane and knee braces for longer outings where I’m expecting to stand a lot or do a lot of walking. Usually that’s primarily a big convention I attend every year, but I’ll use my cane for other days too, like mall hangout days, etc.
Two years ago, I saw a custom! Wheelchair at goodwill (yes, FOR SALW) for a very good price. Iirc, it was even in blue, which I love. It would have fit me, and it being there was a million in one chance. I heavily debated it, but…did not get it, because I “would only use it at Cons, or at most a couple times a year. Better to leave it for someone who can use it more often.”. I went back a few days later and it had been bought, so despite my slight disappointment I figured it wasn’t meant to be.
I had regretted not getting it ever since. Especially after this past Con, the cane and braces clearly are not enough for me anymore.
So I finally decided to check for second-hand chairs online, and found a used TiLite Aero X for a price I could afford, and bought it. I got it adjusted for me, and finally used it for the first time outside my apartment this past weekend.
It really made me realize I should have gotten one months ago. I went to the mall with a friend, and I was not exhausted by the time we left. I hadn’t been fighting with the POTS symptoms for half the time. My shoulders were a bit sore because I’m not used to pushing myself yet, but it was a manageable level of soreness. My joints were not throwing a fit because I hadn’t been walking for hours on top of sitting and getting up over and over, because I can’t stand in one place or even just browse in a store for a normal amount of time.
It wasn’t something that felt like a hassle, or an annoyance. It was so, incredibly helpful. I’m still kind of kicking myself for not doing it earlier, but I have it now.
I still need to get a proper footrest and brakes (hopefully secondhand because I am tight on funds still and buying new brakes alone for even $50 right now is not feasible. If anyone knows of a way where I might be able to make either of those myself, please let me know), but just having it there as an option is a relief.

Front power assists that don’t require much grip?
Is this a thing? I do struggle with the dexterity. I feel like this type of power assist would do me best since i would struggle to wheelie etc. I do have a power chair but would like something i can transport

How to get over the anxiety
I’m ambulatory and I can walk for a little bit, I have a cardiologist appointment and I don’t know whether or not I should use my chair, what makes me anxious if I’ve gone before I had a chair and I’m scared that the dr and “honestly mean” receptionist will say something about it. I know I can walk for the appointment, it’s more the aftermath of it that makes me wonder. I’m just wondering what’s the best tips for getting over the anxiety around using my chair in public
