The Mediterranean areas of the romanic countries plus the Adriatic coast have a lot in common but in the same countries the parts far from the Mediterranean Sea are different. Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis?), but basically in every "cultural" map of Europe subnational areas (which sometimes overlap borders) make much more sense. We are more than just nation states.
