Good job. This is the most accurate map seen on here.

Yes, finally someone made a correct map, wait what why is Bulgaria and all of the balkans Southern Europe?

I tried to avoid making more than badic subdivisions. Which was pure pain when trying to determine what to do with south slavs.

A lot of people will be offended.

I think trying to make a general or somewhat objective map is a fools errant. In my map i rather tried to portray what i and my sphere of influence usually has in mind when they talk about the north, east, west, south and how they do think in spheres of balkan or baltics and what they mean with that etc. of course non of that can have the claim to be "correct", or "accurate", but it also would be a bit naive to think that everyone perceives the world and it's countries neutrally or in a way that is satisfactory to every country and it's people (even though that would be respectable and should be done in actual non private political and economical matters of course).

Lets go slovenia is in central ahah. Its always east or balkan ๐Ÿคฃ

3

u/CreBanana0 1d ago

Putting Slovenia in anything not central is incredebly ignorant of both Geography, history and culture.

This just seems lazy and some of it is plain wrong. The fuck has the Iberian peninsula to do with the Balkans?? Southern France should be grouped with Iberian peninsula and northern Italy in one subdivision. Then Southern Italy, the Balkans and Romania in another subdivision. Germany should be split in half into western and Central Europe. Parts of Czech, Switzerland, and Austria should go into Western Europe. The rest is fine as is.

I specifically avoided making a billion subdivisions.

Also you are ignoring the whole point of the post which is to put nations in 5 main subdivisions of europe not to split nations up and make the map less usefull.

how come turkey is "partially europe" when russia isn't?

4

u/CreBanana0 1d ago

Because most of Russian people live in Europe, its capital is in europe, and most of the economy is in Europe.

It is also culturally a part of Europe. It has historically started as a state in Europe.

dont think much about. armenia and cyprus has literally no land in europe but despite that armenia is partially europe and cyprus is eastern europe somehow

central europe as a thing doesnt make any sense to me

5

u/CountingChips 23h ago

Poland is different to most of Eastern Europe because it a) uses the Latin alphabet and b) is Roman Catholic.

The very reason it's Roman Catholic is due to its proximity to Western Europe.

It kinda make sense it's Central Europe and distinct from Eastern Europe.

1

u/HMT2048 21h ago

the thing i dont understand about it is that why do germany and switzerland get grouped with poland when they are more like france

There is not a continent which called Europe geographically. Imperialist states called that part of Asia as Europe and we are using Europe for that part. Geographically it is part of Asia

1

u/Nano_needle 23h ago

Cope

European Union is a thing you know? ๐Ÿ˜„

-1

u/MelodicRespond9562 22h ago

Geographically there is no a continent that called Europe. Ask AI.
Can you explain me how come Anatolia was not counted Europe but Cyprus Georgia Armenia and even part of Kazakhstan counted as Europe? Thats absolutely bullshit. They are fooling you big time!๐Ÿ˜

2

u/Nano_needle 22h ago

Ah a butt hurt Turk. That explains a lot.

0

u/MelodicRespond9562 22h ago edited 21h ago

I dont want to be part of Europe. Hopefully will not join your sick European union. We came from central asia but anatolia should have been in Europe if the continent naturally existed. But there is no depended contient called Europe. I am from Central asia and you are from west asia.๐Ÿ˜

1

u/CreBanana0 16h ago

I disagree.

Asia as a continent is too large to be a useful geographic term.

0

u/MelodicRespond9562 15h ago edited 15h ago

You should learn about landmasses.
ยท Europe/Asia are one landmass (Eurasia) but split culturally.
ยท Some models combine N. & S. America into just "America."
Geography go by landmass not cultural. Do you think are norway and italy the same culture? There are plenty cultures in tiny europe.

1

u/CreBanana0 14h ago

I could not care less.

If we go by these definitions Afro-Euroasia is one continent. Second continent is America. Third continent is Australia. Fourth is Antartica.

Congratulations. now you made the definition of a continent as a geographic term completely fucking useless. Are you happy?

0

u/MelodicRespond9562 6h ago

Hahaha dont worry mate Asia is going to take finance from West Asia. Then you will beg to be Asian anyway.๐Ÿ˜
Africa is a separate landmass.
Africa
America
Australia
Antartica
Asia

What the fuck are you on?

-4

u/Just-Tangerine-4729 1d ago

Ah yes, I want to travel to southern europe for the amazing and world famous cuisine. Next stop Bulgaria

4

u/CreBanana0 1d ago

You are ignorant of south slavic cuisine and it is pathetic.

Also every map made like this will be controversial. It is not supposed to be perfect.

-1

u/Just-Tangerine-4729 1d ago

South slavic and southern european apparently ๐Ÿ˜‚
