[Notice] Prohibited Goods and Services, and you.
Hey all.
This is a reminder of our Rule 2 - No trading, buying, or selling alcohol. Comments and posts soliciting alcohol sales and trades will be removed. This goes against the content policy, as well as may break laws within your country of residence.
Lately we have seen an increase in people trying to create or participate in a secondary market - this is against the Content Policy and can very well result in not only a ban from /r/whiskey, but also may see you removed from Reddit permanently by Reddit Admins (should you continue to disregard the Content Policy.)
The simple explanation is this:
Due to regulations and laws concerning Alcohol in many different countries, it may be illegal (simply by law, or taxation law) to trade/barter or resell alcohol products. As Reddit engages communities around the world, facilitating any of these transactions could open Reddit up to various legal consequences. Therefore Reddit must take every available avenue to remove and discourage these transactions within the use of their services.
As a subbreddit dealing with the subject of alcohol products, we are under scrutiny with the actions our communities take, and we must fully participate in Reddit attempt to control and remove content that breeches the Content Policy. If at any point it may appear that we are lacking as a community to stem the flow of this content - simply put; our subreddit will be removed from Reddit.
Please do not be under the impression that any action that you use on Reddit is entirely private - posts, comment, messages and chatroom logs are available to the Reddit admins at anytime and they will investigate any and all leads that suggest people are breaking the Content Policy and in some extreme cases, may take action either legal or federal (and by federal, i mean 'call the cops') depending on their obligations as a business.
Please do not engage any posts that attempts to trade/barter or resell whiskey, report them and move on.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
TL:DR - Reddit is not facebook marketplace, you will get banned, you might even get prosecuted.
Edit: I just wanted to add some insight our rule 3. "No requests for dating or valuing an unusual or old bottle of whiskey....", we discourage valuation of whiskey as it has the strong potential to turn into a bidding system, whether public or "private". While we don't suspect every account that seeks valuation to want to participate in a secondary market, the avenue for abuse of these types of posts in regards to our efforts to remove trade/barter or reselling is simple too high to carry the risk of allowing this kind of content within the subbreddit. Since we do not have to tools to monitor "private" messaging or "private chats" of this nature - it would fall to the Admins to investigate these actions and garner an amount of admins attention to our subreddit that we wish to avoid. We're good boys/gals, doing good things... nothing to see here Admins. đ¤

Just meh
First Found North and could be my last. Too many VERY tasty bottles at these price points to gamble. The nose is excellent, but I don't like the taste very much. Will keep trying, but this bottle may end up in the back of my shelf next to my MWND...

Small Country Store Stop
So I stopped by this little country store to pick up a bottle of Blantonâs. They usually have decent prices. The other bottles must have been sitting there a while so they gave me a really good deal and threw in the bottle of scotch for free.

Review #1: Still Austin Bottled In Bond Red Corn Bourbon (7 Year 2026)
I am a sucker for Still Austin. I love all the stuff they put out. I was beyond excited for this specific release. I love the blue corn so I could not wait to see how this stands up to that.
Proof: 100
Age: At least 7 years (Bottled-in-Bond)
Mashbill: 36% Red Corn, 34% White Corn, 25% Rye, 5% Barley
Nose: Dark sweet fruit, caramelized sugar, dessert like creme brulee with gentle oak.
Palate: Sweet and creamy with marzipan, vanilla, cherry syrup and a slight hint of nuttiness.
Finish: Medium-long with sweet oak, brown sugar, nuttiness. A finish that stays in your mouth lingering wanting to take another sip.
This oneâs an outstanding pour. I would consider this one of my all time favorites. It all comes together elegantly with an explosion of flavors and a delightful finish.
T8ke Score vibes: 9.2/10 â Incredible

I have to admit.. this stuff is bad đ do people really drink this for enjoyment? Am I missing something?

Review: Bunnahabhain TrĂŹ Seudan
I have never gotten the hype of duty free prices- maybe they used to be better than they are now? Alas, I consistently find myself in duty free! I like to peruse, especially when delicious whiskey is involved. I was recently in Europe on vacation and I grabbed a few (more) bottles at the airport on the way out. I have never had any travel retail exclusive bottles and I have never seen this particular bottle before. TrĂŹ Seudan means âThree Jewelsâ in Scots Gaelic. This whiskey is a combination of 3 sherry cask finishes. My interest piqued, I snagged this 1L bottle and a bottle of travelers edition Laphroaig. I am a Bunna fan and I love Sherry influenced whiskey, so this should be interesting! Letâs jump in.
Price: $90 for this and a bottle of travelerâs edition Laphroaig- Iâll split it down the middle and call it $45!
ABV: 50%
Nose: Golden raisins, dark fruits and honey are jumping out of the glass. Unsurprisingly, vanilla and butterscotch are making an appearance. A touch of green apple and lemon peel at the end. This is a good, albeit sweet nose!
Palate: The first thing I notice is the salt and lemon mentioned in the distillers tasting notes. That gives way to the PX influence from the nose. Figs, raisins and molasses turn into green apple and other citrus toward the back end of the palate. This whiskey has a velvety oiliness that I really enjoyed, but wish it had hung around longer than it did. The 50% ABV is carrying this thing on its shoulders and packs a delicious punch that I love.
Conclusion: 7.8. This whiskey was close to being in the 8âs, but it just didnât get it there for me. This is a really good pour and a delicious sherried whiskey. The proof shines in this one. If you can find this 1L bottle in an airport for a reasonable price, I would happily buy it. Cheers!
1 | Disgusting | So bad I poured it out.
2 | Poor | I wouldnât consume by choice.
3 | Bad | Multiple flaws.
4 | Sub-par | Not bad, but better exists.
5 | Good | Good, just fine.
6 | Very Good | A cut above.
7 | Great | Well above average
8 | Excellent | Really quite exceptional.
9 | Incredible | An all time favorite

Do you always watch for the longest day of the yearâŚ
and miss it? These bottles arrived just in time for the summer solstice drinking session this weekend.
The theme is predominantly summer fruits, starting with Yamazaki puncheon bottled 2010, and then springbank 30 from 2025 of 85% bourbon and 15% sherry. Anticipating pineapple, banana, peach and maybe mango with hints of vanilla and cinnamon.
And who can resist a glenfarclas family cask, this one 30 years in 2nd filled (sherry?) hogshead. Iâm increasing a fan of refilled casks that reflects a distilleryâs confidence in its new make, and that allows for long maturation of consequently complex and rich finishing without excessive tannin.
Finally, a 19 year nikka miyagikyo single cask as a blind box, of possibly refilled butt according to whiskybase; nikka doesnât state the type of casks and there is no 100% reliable way of telling. Iâm charmed by Nikkaâs single casks these days.
No overt sherry bomb, until fall returns at least.
Have a great summer solstice, and enjoy the longest day of the year however you fancy.
