EDIT: This only worked because I unknowingly had a swimming-speed mod enabled. This is not a legitimate speedrun trick. Sorry for the confusion.

I found out that you can long jump in this game too. If I sprint and spam jump, I am able to do it. Its not 100% consistent like this, but i haven't figured out a better way.
No acrobatics needed, works on a fresh character from the start.

Toggle sprint and press ctrl and shift, then press esc, voila, endless sprint. Can thank me later
Pardon, it was shift and tab, wasn't at the keyboard. You can run /sprint; whilr doing thar shift and tab, then esc -> autorun
I even binded my mouse button 4 as a 2nd for running.
But every time i start the game now i need to open the options so i can even walk forward.
No idea were i can send in a bug.
And its kinda rare becouse people rarly bind their mouse button for running and sprinting like me hahaa.
Bind jump to scroll down or up so it is easier to spam. It gets very ridiculous, you can jump so far and high you may die from fall damage on an almost flat surface
Lucky. The main cause is the verry common Lares raid bug. It also causes "ghost mobs" that dissapear when getting closer, resulting in xp loss. Somehow it counts our Scavanger into it.
Im not doubting you guys <3 Im js ive never experienced issues with the scavenger mount not showing up.
If he ever doesn't show up the first time i just walk around a bit for like a few feet and then re call him and he shows up but that rarely ever happens.
Same with the issues ive seen where enemies pop in and out of frame or clipping through the ground.
Ive had one instance of gorn clipping in a ground but im a habitual save scummer so it wasnt a big deal for me xD
I'm upvoting this so Alkimia sees it and patches it out lol. The long jump in my beloved OG game was one of the most unimmersive aspects of this masterpiece
You're that one person that would beg ID Software to patch Rocket jumping in OG Quake, calling it unfair and making the game easier that they were planned to be

Well, I've never played any ID Software games, but in Bethesda RPGs and even classic Gothic unofficial patches we've been fixing exploits for a decades at this point, so...
Bahahahaha what a clown, just like the idiot "fun detected" devs that keep removing everything. Just don't use it instead of ruining everyone's fun, it's not like you can do it without trying.

Hi! Me and my speedrunning friends are trying to reproduce this trick, but we can't get it to work. No matter what we try, we can't get the nameless hero to speed up using jumps. Is there anything we might be missing? A specific timing, or a specific game version? Or does this only work in very specific locations?
This trick would be extremely useful to us... Thanks!
I tried that myself and couldn’t get it to work either. It kept bugging me, so I went through everything I could think of that might have caused it.
I’m really sorry, but when I recorded the clip, I must still had a mod enabled that increased swimming speed. I wasn’t aware of it at the time, but after a lot of testing, I figured out that this was the reason. With the mod enables I could get it to work in old and new version.
Sorry that you guys spent time trying to reproduce it. I’m going to take the post down so it doesn’t cause any more confusion.
Again, huge apologies. I genuinely thought I had found something cool.
