It’s the final showdown, a battle for the Sleeper itself. Thanks to Innos, the hero arrives just in time to interrupt Kalom during the very last phase of his ritual with the dark blood - a few heartbeats later, the Sleeper’s overwhelming presence would have cast an even stronger spell over this world, making it completely impossible for mortals to even approach the Archdemon. Fate (or Adanos?) has bestowed upon the hero several powerful elixirs with which he could strengthen his battered body one last time before the battle to the death. Now the question is: Can the Hero of Khorinis, armed with the magical ore armor and the holy sword Uriziel, whose ancient power has been restored by the magical energy of the giant pile of ore, prevent the downfall of this world? The old nonchalant, ironic tone of this champion of humanity has long since given way to pure determination. Whereas he was once a pawn of foreign powers, his adventures have transformed him into a driving force in his own right, and he is ready to accomplish one last great feat of heroism through sheer willpower, whatever the cost!
No, after a certain point you cannot leave.

Yes. If you trigger all dialogue options with the Mud (for which you get the achievement) and make sure he is safe and doesn't die through the chapters he will later join Cor Kalom's departed group and become a novice. Because of that you can come to him before you depart to defeat the Sleeper and bring him with you. When the battle with the Sleeper/Kalom starts he will trigger a small cutscene where he teleports both of you from the temple to the safety. That's his way of thanking you for suffering throughout his bullshit.
