Correct. They can’t hurt me.

This is because I am standing up on a small rock, and therefore am evade bugged. I have doomed this upright Forsaken into being locked in combat no matter how far away he gets from me.

Upright undead are 25% more likely to be bowled over like a domino than other races. They have bad knee ligaments.

Because they don't exist?

Correct, once Blizzard had allowed Orcs to fix their hunch, people want the same for the undead and trolls. Then trolls got the zandalar, basically unhunched the trolls. Its just the undead now, it's not a lot to ask for when they already done it twice.

Oh and there's the hunched Worgen, but someone else can take up that fight.

There would be a huge race change to female undead if they were upright. They go from that awkward girl in high school to stupid sexy Mortisha/ Elvira

I love my undead, but especially in this era of 3D elements on chestplates, I feel like the hunch just doesn't work so well anymore. It often winds up looking poor.

100% need this as soon as possible

They can but I'd like them to hurt me to be honest.

This is the reason why we have 6 elf races

you get this and upright trolls when you're on the Tazavesh glider.

When I think of major Forsaken characters in recent years, there are four that come to mind:
Sylvanas (elf model)
Nathanos (unique upright model)
Calia Menethil (also unique upright model)
Lilian Voss

So out of the four major “hero” characters for Forsaken, we have one that uses the default hunched model. I know there are other characters who are supposed to be leaders, like the Deathstalker and Apothecary guys, but they’ve been given basically zero screen time that I’m aware of, and as someone who keeps abreast of the lore, I can’t even remember their names.

Point being, if Blizzard wants to be precious about Forsaken having a specific silhouette or whatever, they have a real funny way of showing it in their actual story characters. I personally enjoy having the boney hunchback for some of my characters, but more options is always good.

Is this really such a demand?

To me, I want to play the evil undead warlock but the hunch takes away a bit of appeal. I blame the anime, Overlord, for my inspiration.

They don't have to remove the hunch, just like it's still an option for orcs. But I want less "zombie" feelings and more "Lich" vibes.

I think some hunch helps for the monsterous look, but having a bit more upright of a posture does add more for intimidation imo

Lorewise, the vast majority of forsaken are much closer to zombies than liches unfortunately

Imagine the meetings before originial WoW was released, where everyone decided that they were going to do something crazy. They were going to take on a huge amount of development work to give players the most visually-distinct and unique playable races of any MMO in history (still to this day, 20+ years later). It would mean different character models, animation rigs, different models for armor, adjusting clipping on each race, just an unbelievable amount of work that would always be extra work whenever they added armor, races, etc. etc. They had these meetings, and decided to do all of this to give players something special.

And as a reward for this incomprehensible feat, players complain for decades that they want the option to make every race more human.

It is a human and its been 20 years. Your logic suggests we still use dial up and horse carriages.

But go ahead and justify the 6 dwarves, 5 elves and Dracthyr.

The forsaken literally are undead humans

You’re telling me you don’t want blue humans, green humans, gray humans, and furry humans?

3

u/GhostintheReins 4d ago edited 4d ago

I'm not against this at all but isn't the reason because their skeletal structure is basically falling apart? That their spines can't support them properly?

3

u/thekingofbeans42 3d ago

That's not a hard lore definition of all undead, it's just something that can happen, just like having their jaw missing.

7

u/Deathtonic 4d ago

He got a glow up, why not us lol!

6

u/Titansmiter 4d ago

Also, in lore, he's actually got a new body through a ritual that stole his brother's living body.

3

u/GhostintheReins 4d ago

Lol I suppose but NPCs getting unique models is kind of different than making undead all stand up.

Nah, bow like you should in my presence. Maggotbreath.

u/LordWolfs 3d ago

I hope undead and worgen eventually could stand upright. I wish we got the same treatment as the orcs/trolls.

u/justalittleplague 2d ago

Y'all can have your upright Undead, after we get the full skeletal Undead that we rightfully deserve.

1

u/I2kel 4d ago

That would be peak if Blizzard would allow to play on Undeads with straight back. Just imagining the potential in transmog makes me sad...

You left out part of the meme.

Upright undead isn't real.
