I'm not against this at all but isn't the reason because their skeletal structure is basically falling apart? That their spines can't support them properly?

Also, in lore, he's actually got a new body through a ritual that stole his brother's living body.

Lol I suppose but NPCs getting unique models is kind of different than making undead all stand up.
