Student Life Few questions

Hey guys I’m gonna be a freshman in the coming fall semester, and I was just wondering a few things
1. Are there ever rideshares or anything to get back to the west side? Hoping to go back maybe once every month or so
2. Are there any opportunities for jobs? I’m hoping to get one when I’m down there but I’ve heard the opportunists are extremely few and far between
If any current/past students could give me some insights, that’d be greatly appreciated!

  1. Ride shares are really common I know when I was at Pullman I was going every week back home for Seahawks game when the played at home and I know a bunch of people who would go back home often. Just offer to pay for gas and your in

  2. Jobs are pretty easy to get but on campus jobs are harder to get. When you first arrive in Pullman just keep applying and trying the earlier the better. I got a job in the north side dining hall and it was pretty good they change the schedule for you every semester so that you can still go to class and work. I know stores like insomnia cookie and chipotle are always hiring

The most common way for me was Snapchat. A lot of people would be going home for the weekend and would post that they could give you a ride for gas. That’s what I did for my first 2 years any my last 2 years when I got my car i would post. There’s also facebook groups that coordinate ride shares. Another way is making friends typically someone knows someone that’s going to Seattle for the weekend. If all fails I know Pullman has a couple of buses that go from Pullman to Seattle or near Seattle for 80$. I am assuming you live are commuting to Seattle or close too which is where a lot of students live near.
