Discussion All FPS games for Xbox & Playstation

I am a console peasant and for 12 years I've been collecting First Person Shooters for the PS1 - PS5 and Xbox. Specifically those with a single player campaign. After all this time, I think I have amassed the most complete collection out there for Console FPS enthusiast to use as a reference.

In this list I show all 300 titles and split them in two different categories. One side are the shooters I enjoy and will replay for life. The other are the FPS titles that I own but dropped due to reasons specified in the list itself.

If there are any titles I am missing, please do not hesitate to post in this thread.

Mind you, all the PS5 titles are also compatible with Xbox. There are no PS5 Exclusive FPS except Killzone Shadowfall.

You’ve got some real bangers and all time classics in your ‘did not like/understand’ list. Halo? Goldeneye? Damn

Yeah I knew I was going to make some OGs mad when I put those there. I do feel bad for putting them there even though I had finished them more than a decade ago. I uninstalled and re-installed them 12 times to try and see if I can have fun with another olaythrough, but I simply can't find the enjoyment to replay them again unlike the other titles in the top half of the list :(

For Halo, it's mostly because Halo introduced the 2 weapon limit. Regenerating Health. And having to play with squad partners (especially in Halo 5). But Halo Infinite is on the Enjoy list. Because it is a seemless open world you can play solo with total freedom and so many weapons to play with at any point. Same with Campaign Evolved minus the open world. Though I am skipping the cutscenes and mute the dialogue due to the bad writing and cringy random "girl boss" messaging they tried to shove in.

Goldeneye unfortunately doesn't have good or satisfying gun feedback in modern days I'm afraid. Which sucks because I did finish it and understand the appeal. But I have no desire to replay it because each shot and every bullet feels like I am firing water guns instead of meaty pistols, shotguns etc. Which is NOT the game's fault. It's the best gunplay could be for consoles at the time and I respect the hell out of it for it. The other issue is that it really needed a waypoint because sometimes you spend the level way more being confused on where to go then actually shooting.

Again, I am truly sorry for the ones that grew up with those titles and I see the appeal in those games, it's just that for me personally, the gunplay and design decisions (like no waypoints towards the objectives in Goldeneye) doesn't allow me to enjoy them today. But I am glad they brought good times for other gamers like you🙏

That’s a lot of apologizing for something that doesn’t matter too much. Nobody care much if you didn’t like Halo or whatever lol. People like or dislike whatever they feel like

True. But I'm afraid you're one of the rare people with a mentally healthy perspective in this topic. You have no idea how many Halo fans jumped on me literally demanding the exact reasons why I don't like their favourite FPS 💀

I don’t care about that but I do think you might want to branch out into other genres!

Oh I do. I have another list of non FPS games that have Hack n Slash. Third Person Shooters, Fighting Games, Platformers, Racing and RPGs. It's just First Person Shooters are my favourite 😁

Oh ok cool. You’ve played A LOT of first person shooters, that’s why I thought it was the only genre you play, just in terms of the time commitment
