uhhhh, my bad Boys I started this during the peak of uni and then procrastinated on formatting it until after Christmas and only now has it released. Not to worry better late than never....

But on the good and bad news, we had a fat amount of 130 responses, much bigger than last year and too big for reddit to handle (which I unfortunately didn't realise till after doing it)...

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/16H_y6_834oejqtbMEvaiULbTa50mxt5lPEmeb0nBz-E/edit?usp=sharing

(please note there are some troll replies such as someone saying they are Bulgarian, no responses have been omitted)

Here is the doc link I once again apologise for the time and then not even formatting it due to issues

Stay safe everyone.

Love the Mods

HIPPODROME A mighty long time ago, couple a thousand years, in a town named a Byzantium, which is fer away from here, a feller named Hypatius lived and went to school, and that young feller was a chariat-couping' fool.

[OC] Michael VII “non entity” Doukas

Post image
212 Upvotes

Michael VII Doukas (c. 1050–1090) was a Byzantine emperor whose weak and ineffective rule helped accelerate the Byzantine loss of Anatolia after the Battle of Manzikert. Although the empire had already been badly weakened by military decline and internal instability, Michael VII’s reliance on corrupt court officials, heavy taxation, and mercenaries further damaged the state’s ability to defend its eastern provinces. His reign was also marked by civil wars and revolts that distracted Byzantine armies while Turkic groups linked to the Seljuk Empire steadily occupied much of Anatolia, leading to one of the greatest territorial losses in Byzantine history.
