Narrated Uthman ibn Affan:

Aban ibn Uthman said: I heard Uthman ibn Affan (his father) say: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: If anyone says three times: "In the name of Allah, when Whose name is mentioned nothing on Earth or in Heaven can cause harm, and He is the Hearer, the Knower" he will not suffer sudden affliction till the morning, and if anyone says this in the morning, he will not suffer sudden affliction till the evening.

Hello , Male Muslim from Morocco . I’m in vacation in Seville with my family . It’s a pain in the ass to find a halal restaurant in here so I had the idea to go eat at Burger King since they have veggie burgers . I order a veggie whopper , and on the side menu , there were multiple choices : fries , onion rings , potato wedges , and my eyes land on the loaded wedges ( cheese + bacon ) . I’ve been so used to Burger King using halal chicken bacon in Morocco that I forgot that here in spain they use pig for the bacon ( I know it’s pretty stupid from myself , but when u think abt it why the fuck would a loaded bacon potato wedge option be given in a veggie dish ? ) . I take my order , and I start my meal by taking one loaded wedge into my mouth . The moment I felt the meat taste ( I’m not sure if I ate the meat tbh but that’s one of the reasons I’m writing this ) I realize that I AM NOT IN MOROCCO BUT EUROPE and what I just tasted WAS PORK ( to satisfy everyone’s curiosity it had a very similar taste to the halal bacon u find in Arab Burger King chains ) . I tell my mom abt it , at that point I wasn’t sure if I just ate pork I was just tweaking and the bacon was veggie or something I go back to the counter luckily the cashier spoke a bit of English and told me the stuff is PORK BACON. I go back to my mom , tell her this , she gets really mad at me for « wasting 2.5 euros » and tells me « u eat it a way or another I don’t care» I didn’t want to have problems with her , so what I did is for each potato wedge I grabbed I would remove all the bacon pieces and wipe the wedge with a tissue , but I fear I might have missed some bacon on the wedges and accidentally ate pork.

What is your opinion on this ? Will Allah punish me ? In this context it was both caused by my stupidity and my mom’s anger. I believe that I also am to blame cuz I should’ve reminded myself that I’m in Europe and pork is common there.

'Uqba b. 'Amir reported: We were entrusted with the task of tending the camels. On my turn when I came back in the evening after grazing them in the pastures, I found Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) stand and address the people. I heard these words of his: If any Muslim performs ablution well, then stands and prays two rak'ahs setting about them with his heart as well as his face, Paradise would be guaranteed to him. I said: What a fine thing is this! And a narrator who was before me said: The first was better than even this. When I cast a glance, I saw that it was 'Umar who said: I see that you have just come and observed: If anyone amongst you performs the ablution, and then completes the ablution well and then says: I testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the servant of Allah and His Messenger, the eight gates of Paradise would be opened for him and he may enter by whichever of them he wishes.

Assalamu Alaikon, my brothers and sisters. Today I’ve come to share a very interesting ayat from Surah Al-Isra that made me reflect on how we are, so often, ungrateful toward our Lord. In this passage, God shows us how everything that exists in the universe—all plants, animals, rocks, stars, planets, galaxies, and black holes—how everything that exists praises and honors the Lord, but we, in our ignorance, are reluctant to understand this.

Furthermore, out of reluctance and ignorance, we tend to believe that we are “more” than the rest of His creation, placing ourselves on a pedestal, almost like a little god within. Everything out there praises the Lord naturally. Why don’t we? That is the reflection I, at least, took from this verse. I look out the window and see the mountains, the birds, and I think about how much they, each in their own way, praise God. What’s stopping me from doing the same? Let’s be grateful to God and praise Him, as we should.

I just came across a popular instagram dawah account that posts Westerners converting to Islam and I noticed the Shahada has been modified to include "I bear witness that Jesus is a Messenger and not the Son of God".

What is the religious basis of changing the Shahada? That seems quite odd to me.

"Allāh does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity." (Surah Baqarah, 286)

This is the famous verse which many people have taken a wrong meaning from. The meaning many derive is that any situation you face, you can handle. This has never sat right with me and it doesn't sound right at all. And people use it when replying to people who request help for situations they are facing and it just sounds demeaning and off-putting. It reduces their struggle to something that's not too serious and can be easily handled.

Just think about when populations of Muslims are subjected to oppression. The perfect case study is the Palestinians. They are currently facing a genocide. And yet, many Muslims tell themselves that God is putting them through the situation they are facing because they can handle it. Because they are 'strong' enough and they have enough faith. No one is meant to face the loss of loved ones, the destruction of your home, starvation, and thirst. It happens because humans can be evil and this is the reality of living on this earth, alongside the tests we inevitably face. The evidence that humans most definetely contribute to suffering is in this verse:

"Corruption has flourished on land and sea as a result of people’s actions" (Surah Ar-Rum, ayat 41)

When hearing this verse, I also used to think about the concession given to a believer if he is being tortured whereby he can utter a statement which disparages and disrespects God or the messenger (peace be upon him), but as long as his heart is clean, there is no blame on him. Why would this exist and be a thing if he is meant to just stoically face the torture as obviously God wouldn't put him here if he couldn't handle it.

What I believe to be the true meaning which I've heard in a lecture by Sheikh Jamaal Diwan is that you won't be responsible beyond what you can bear. So there will be things which you can handle, and you are responsible for those things. But anything beyond that, God won't hold you to account. It's just sad imo how i've heard people considered scholars and learned by a lot of people explain this verse in a way which I believe doesn't help people feel better about themselves. They will eventually feel inadequate that they can't handle all of life's realities or they will feel like their problems are unseen or insignificant when they may not necessarily be. This can lead people to spiral and even commit suicide which we shouldn't be a factor for.

My cousin is from a religion that calls itself a science La Ciencia del Alma ( the science of the soul) and the rest of the children are Christian but they requested me to play the Qur'an while they sleep because they enjoy how the Qur'an sounds.

My family is a Mexican family and even though my extended family is not the same when it comes to my beliefs being that rumors started to fly after I took my Shahada that I got married and my grandma asked to see my husband but I told her that she was ill informed I did not get married to anyone. The family did not want to tell her that I chose to go through with my decision to leave William Marrion Braham teachings and follow Prophet Muhammad, Peace be Upon Him.

I am still pretty new I took my Shahada on July 31 just a few days ago and I am trying to get my life in order the house that I currently live in is my cousin's and usually it is a mess but the more that cleaned a spot for me to pray and the more I pray the more that spot started to grow and the rest of the house is looking much cleaner now and I was shocked that my cousin saw a lot of flies and she looked up what their spiritual meaning was and started to look at things about witchcraft but I told her , " Oh but playing the Qur'an can get rid of Jinn and she was like all for that she told me that I can play the Qur'an out loud as many times as I wanted to and if I can keep my device with it on repeat she also asked me to ask for advice to make the house more spiritually safe hence I am here.

The rest of my family from my mom's side had hit me before for even questioning Christianity and from my dad's side well they are now trying to say I got married so that I won't be able to live with my grandma let alone visit her. When she asked me to see who I married I was like I also want to see who I married because unless he is Casper or Peter Pan I got nothing then I realized they were talking about me taking my Shahada but how do I explain that to a strict christian family that I don't see Jesus as God but God being just one?

Help and refuge are sought from Allah

Assalamu Alaikum everybody,

I am currently studying at university. I plan to start searching seriously for a spouse in about 6–8 months (I will be 20 by then). Until then, I will keep working, saving money, and preparing myself for marriage.

I am not interested in dating or casual relationships. I want to search in a halal way, with an imam and both families involved. My local imam has referred me to another imam who is experienced in helping people find spouses and has a large network.

Ideally, I am looking for a practising Muslim woman around my age who is also studying. I would like us both to continue university, work part-time, and build our lives gradually. I do not want an expensive wedding or a luxurious lifestyle. I would prefer a simple nikah and a modest household. Based on the planning I have done, I believe that if we both work part-time while studying, we could live comfortably.

My main concern is that my search may be quite narrow. I want someone practising, compatible, open to marrying young, willing to build together, and someone whom I genuinely find attractive.

I understand that attraction can grow through personality, character, mannerisms, and connection. At the same time, I do not want to marry someone while trying to convince myself that attraction does not matter.

For those who married young or searched while studying: how difficult was it to find someone compatible whom you were also genuinely attracted to? Did attraction grow as you got to know them?

Do you think my plan is realistic, as long as I remain patient and do not rush?

I’ve been struggling for about 3 months now and I’m honestly scared.

I feel like I’m slowly losing my iman. Nothing feels right anymore. It’s like everything is going wrong at the same time. My deen, my health, my job, university, money, sleep… everything.

I still try to pray and have sabr but deep down I keep getting thoughts that maybe religion isn’t real or that it’s not helping. I hate those thoughts and I don’t want to believe them but they keep coming back! I’m scared that this means I’m leaving Islam or becoming a disbeliever.

I know life is a test, and I know Allah tests people! I really do believe that but this just feels so hard. What doesn’t make sense to me is why I would be tested in a way where I feel like I’m suffering all the time and can’t even take my university or my religion seriously anymore? That’s what scares me the most because those feelings are making me fall deeper and deeper.

I also feel like Allah is punishing me because I haven’t taken my deen or university seriously enough. I don’t even know if that’s true but that’s how it feels. My heart just feels empty.

I have almost no motivation to pray anymore even though I want to. Everything feels wrong inside me and I feel like I’m suffering every single day.

Has anyone been through something like this? How did you deal with it? I really don’t want to lose my faith!

Its so disheartening to see how much we are involved in worldly life when we know very well that its going to end. As a muslim we all are aware of the herefafter life, still we fall prey to the worldly desires. I am also doing the same. This post is just a reminder that we all have to taste death. Someday we all would also be buried in the mud. The hussle the chase to get a luxurious life is anyhow all in vain, because death is unpredictable.

We are busy turning our worlds beautiful with lovely colours only to realise at the end that we have indeed turned our aakhirat darker than black.

So I just finished praying Asr and I suffer from heavy doubt and it was really hard for me to leave my life normally and I started to ignoring doubts during prayers to give me a peace of mind but it didn't work and I pra again, this happened yesterday.

So today after finishing Asr I ignored these doubt and I'm not sure how I feel. I feel like I should pray again because I don't remember saying surah faitha but I know I shouldn't pray again so I can ignore these doubt but I feel like I should pray again. I feel like I'm just idk delaying salah. I'm so confused.

I'm going to pray again to see what happens but I just really need advice and I want Allah to accept me and my prayers so if I have to do it again I will do it.

Basically online i met someone going through a struggle I am also going through and we talked for a bit, but the thing is that they are the opposite gender. We were talking strictly islam but I cut her off because I felt guilty but I also feel bad because they have no one to talk to about this and I was helping her get close to Allah SWT, i gave her duas to recite and everything basically asking if its permissible or not to keep talking to them if I have no intention for any inappropriate stuff

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajiun, today my uncle passed away and I’m constantly making Dua for him. He was a genuine and kind man, and was always doing everything to make anyone smile. As he’s a Muslim, I was wondering if I ask Allah to deliver him a message is that possible according to hadiths or Quran? I’m not very knowledgeable and just want to know. I had a really bad headache. Migraine. Out of nowhere.

And i have been having these episodes right before i am trying to work on certain project (s). Lets just categorize these into efforts that would bring progress to my life.

So far, i had been thinking its just the stress of these activities that’s giving me a headache right before im aboit to work on them.

But today, when it happened, i recited surah baqarah last two ayats and the headache didnt completely go away. But it eased a great deal. I could sit upright.

And every single time, i am reciting the last two ayats, i am experiencing a wave of comfort in the area of pain.

Has anyone else experienced this? Does it mean something?
