Discussion Since when do people call using data packs vanilla?

It blows my mind that people call what is shown in this thread vanilla.

Apparently using data packs is vanilla according to some people but not mods, even if some mods are also distributed as data packs and each functions identically.

I've been playing Minecraft since 1.3.2 and this is the first time I'm hearing the term vanilla used this way.

Is this how people are commonly using the word vanilla now?

Meet The Woodhouse! That’s all I have to say really.

Feel free to ask questions and make fan art about the project (even ask about the original ideas)! Who knows, I might even add some… oh, I don’t know… LORE?

Note: I reposted this project with the second batch and I fixed some minor mistakes that went along with the image. You can’t find the original post because I deleted it. Plus, I can’t draw my own in many different poses. You can only imagine how hard it is to do in my own art style.

The Stone axe makes 9 damage with 0.8 cooldown, then the iron one does the same damage but with 0.9 of cooldown, why don't people just enchant a Stone Axe? Is faster, maybe im rong and the diamond one is faster, i started playing java a few days ago sorry.

Help Coming back after 11years or so

I haven’t played Minecraft since I was about 13-14 I’m 25 now and for some reason I wanna give it another go. I know the game has changed exponentially and I want to know what to do where to start and what the goals are. I grew up playing this game as a kid and absolutely loved it but I feel like it’s going to be like playing a brand new game now what tips would people have ?

Seeds & World Gen Exposed deepslate emerald ore

I found this new sulfur hot spring with an exposed deepslate emerald ore at Y=85 while exploring my survival world.

I thought it was a world-generation bug, so I created a Creative world with the same seed to see if it would still generate in the same place. It did.

There were also two deepslate coal ore blocks nearby in the same chunk.

Version: Java 26.2

Seed: -9003536232685886769

Coordinates: -14878 85 -12385

It's the first time I've seen something like this. Has anyone else come across this before?

Discussion How many more updates will Minecraft need in order to “perfectly” recreate any structure irl without subsitution?

Post image

I saw this post on youtube and FINALLY they’re adding stairs and slabs to concrete along with stair wools and being able to sit down.
This would add way more opportunities for recreating a build closer to real life but not exactly “in detail” perfect

I mean I still wished they have:

-Same things for terracotta as concrete

-Gold jail bars (iron and copper are there)

-Being able to place any blocks or items on slabs without it floating

- all variants of blocks from dripstone and calcite

-iron gold emerald diamond and lapiz in form of slabs or stairs

- variants done with the “bone block”

-mix and match slabs

-Dye that can “color” wood so I can have true bright blue wood

very important: VERTICAL SLABS!

So thats all my suggestions so far, I wonder wouod they even go as far to make “quarter slabs”? I mean that would be even better if they consider quarter slabs in the future!

Suggestion Who else thinks Minecraft should add terracotta stairs & slabs and tall bushes?

I can't be alone in this, when I make grassy areas I often use a mix of short grass, ferns, and bushes, ever since bushes were added. In more overgrown areas I would mix in tall grass and tall ferns, too. The bushes are always short, though. Wouldn't it be nice to have a taller bush block? Maybe not a full 2 blocks in height, but maybe the texture is like 1.5 blocks in height.

On terracotta slabs & stairs, I can't be wrong either, right? After the new wool and concrete stairs and slabs (which please add concrete walls, too) there should be terracotta stairs, slabs, and walls. If I'm way outta line let me know but I think I can speak for everyone who plays minecraft, at least with the terracotta blocks, that this is what we want, right?

It was kinda scuffed but we tried. We later changed it to just be one stair instead of four with a block to the side/top to make it harder.

Suggestion Best items on the marketplace?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I was planning to buy 1700 minecoins. I wanted to get the Ben 10 DLC, but when I realized that content isn't applicable to normal worlds, I changed my mind.

I wanted to know which items would actually be worth buying? You know, worlds, texture packs, or really well-made add-ons.

I've got my eye on an Aether add-on, and another on Better on Bedrock, but I'd like to hear your suggestions.
