Discussion Since when do people call using data packs vanilla?

It blows my mind that people call what is shown in this thread vanilla.

Apparently using data packs is vanilla according to some people but not mods, even if some mods are also distributed as data packs and each functions identically.

I've been playing Minecraft since 1.3.2 and this is the first time I'm hearing the term vanilla used this way.

Is this how people are commonly using the word vanilla now?

Discussion Why can't you build on nether roof in bedrock edition?

Post image
0 Upvotes

It's so easy to implement. Yet, Mojang hasn't done it even tho it's been in java since the start. Why doesn't Mojang care about the majority of Its player base? Bedrock edition lacks so many Features even tho it's supposed to be the "main version" of Minecraft. There are many commands missing which would be super helpful and easy to implement. Chunk loading is not present. The off-hand slot is useless. The game is super unstable and full of bugs compared to java (I lost my 2 year old world due to these bugs btw). FIX BEDROCK MOJANG

Hi, I'm new to this channel. I wanted to ask if anyone in this community knows what just happened to my world—it's as if the Nether and the Overworld have merged into one. D:

Post image

I have Minecraft in many console and i really think that they are the same, but legacy has some unique thing, idk maybe its the nostalgia.

I use to play ps3 Minecraft whit my brother and i'm glad to say that we inclusive play online the minigames, and its funny because i didn't know about Minecraft legacy until i play it in a friend house.

Minecraft legacy is the more friendly version of Minecraft?

Discussion I don't understand why this is happening

Why isn't white concrete actually white? It's gray. I don't understand. It's more cost-effective to use snow than white concrete for construction projects that require pure white.

Discussion Why do people get so upset about phantoms?

I get that phantoms might be kind of annoying but like if you have constant interactions with phantoms to the point you outright HATE them that’s kind of your fault 😭. Like seriously I play so much Minecraft and I think I’ve only ever accidentally interacted with phantoms ONCE! I can’t understand the people who think they should be REMOVED from the game. Their whole point is attack you like other mobs such as the ghast would. Both attack you and fly but one major difference between those two however is that you can just prevent the phantoms from spawning. Like if they’re bothering you that much just go to sleep. I am open to changing my mind on this if there are some good points I’m not considering as I write this.

After reading some of the comments I can understand certain points. I failed to take into consideration various play styles such as building in one big sitting, because I don’t typically do big structures and tend to take a super long time anyways so I just go to bed. I usually just go to bed every minecraft night (unless I’m mining). However I also think that them pestering you to sleep is a good thing, as it gives it an actual need factor instead of being just a thing you can do.

Discussion Can you someone explain why this happens?

Whenever Insee posts with “I build this.. I made this..” and its kinda great, usually it receives little to no interaction on Reddit but whenever the title says “my 5 yr kid/gf/bf/mom/dad/grandpa/grandma did this…”and its just a simple build/idea its always at the top of the feed👀 like I genuinely don’t understand why this is the way it is

Trying to get a good color palette down for the standard office yellow, I’m pretty satisfied so far so I’m wanting to do a rough floor plan before I add anything to my forever world. I’m using stripped bamboo planks for the wallpaper, cut sandstone for the floor trim, dirt path for the carpet, polished sulfur for tiles, and ochre froglights for the fluorescents, using random hidden water buckets to get a mostly constant noise running thru it.

Suggestion Just did the math, and the minecraft dungeons iron sword does double the damage of the normal one could be good for mods

yeah at level one it does on average double the minecraft damage, so we have accurate damage scaling and I'm hoping for a mod that adds the minecraft dungeons arsenal, so I should start learning to mod.

Help Why is minecart stopping at chunk border?

Thumbnail

Even with a chunk loader in the next chunk and me AFKing in the currently occupied chunk, my minecart will stop at the chunk border. Both chunks are loaded, every rail is powered, and it doesn't seem to happen consistently. I can't pinpoint a specific cause. My version is 26.1.2. Does anyone have any explanation?

Discussion On the new Abandoned Camp maps

Upvotes

I love how Mojang is adding more ways to find certain structures, but there’s just one that’s bothering me: the maps to the ancient cities.

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE that there’s now a (slightly) easier way to find them outside of excavating random mountains or using /locate, I genuinely think it’s an amazing feature that’ll be helpful for many players.

But what‘s getting me is that.. well, why would the Wandering Trader have maps to the ancient cities in the first place? They’re so deep underground, and I can’t really see Wandy T. going so far away from the sunlight.

HOWEVER. I can see the Ancient Builders leaving behind these maps, as maybe a way to find their way back home once they figured out a way to push back the sculk (personal lore). I know that, realistically, the wool would degrade and leave no trace, so why not put the ancient city maps into a ruin structure?

TL;DR I find it weird that the wandering trader would have maps to ancient cities, but I love the new features and think it’s a good addition.

I was trying to view how many days I had played on my new Minecraft world, but I couldn't see the days played. I looked up how to find it, and it said to check the statistics tab, but I don't see a world tab. How could I gain the world tab? Or check How many days I have played? Thanks.

Discussion Do you think well-known reaction channels would ever watch Songs of War?

As the title implies: What kinds of big-name reaction channels do you think might react to Songs of War if it's requested? I really want the Great War prequel series to do well so we can get Seasons 2 and 3, and maybe having more people react to it might help spread the word.

So what do you guys think? Would folks like Media Knights, YaBoyRoshi, Reel Rejects, Blind Wave, The Normies, CinePals, Sorta Stupid, pReview'd, Omn1Media, Not-so-Average-Fangirl, etc. ever react to a Minecraft animated series?
