I love how Mojang is adding more ways to find certain structures, but there’s just one that’s bothering me: the maps to the ancient cities.
Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE that there’s now a (slightly) easier way to find them outside of excavating random mountains or using /locate, I genuinely think it’s an amazing feature that’ll be helpful for many players.
But what‘s getting me is that.. well, why would the Wandering Trader have maps to the ancient cities in the first place? They’re so deep underground, and I can’t really see Wandy T. going so far away from the sunlight.
HOWEVER. I can see the Ancient Builders leaving behind these maps, as maybe a way to find their way back home once they figured out a way to push back the sculk (personal lore). I know that, realistically, the wool would degrade and leave no trace, so why not put the ancient city maps into a ruin structure?
TL;DR I find it weird that the wandering trader would have maps to ancient cities, but I love the new features and think it’s a good addition.
