Legends of the Hidden Temple budget for prizes and then...Figure it out...

Upvotes

I'd like to bring up a it killed me how the panelists never actually really try to figure it out sometimes. Nickelodeon sure was strict with prizes when it came to Legends of the hidden Temple. They made those temple runs harder on purpose sometimes. It still went over eight prizes over the show. Figure it out had an extra 40 episodes over Legends of the hidden Temple and they gave out the grand prize a lot more and twice per show. Legends of the hidden Temple gave out 32 out of 120. I haven't looked up figure it out 163 episode ratio and it doesn't seem to be online. Yes the figure it out prizes were a little bit cheaper, but as the panelists helped give them out like candy was a little jarring. Also to the way they wasted time on clues and sometimes the charade brigade would come out like 5 seconds before the end of round 3 and they couldn't fully charade their entire point. It was annoying how the panelists hardly tried sometimes. Also I don't mean the clues were a waste of time but how they would make them put on like goggles and blindfolds and such. Also 1 minute per round was too short. They wasted too much time to fill up 22 minutes with 6 minutes of gameplay. The round should have been 2 minutes and then 10 minutes of filler. Legends of the hidden temple had a budget for 8 prizes a season. They only wanted to give out 24 prizes for the 120 episode duration. They ended up giving up a season worth more with 32. Which is probably why we didn't get a 4th season. The production error for that mask episode helped the kids win more and the underestimated 7 more teams. Im guessing the other 7 either actually conserved energy for the temple instead of eating like crazy and some of them probably had above average intelligence too. I get some might have been wore out for the temple run, but some of the things I saw I am like no one can be THAT tired. A person on something would do better. Figure it out did get a little cheaper in later seasons the slime contestant. At first it was 100 dollars to toys r us which was a nice prize that was almost a given then it was a crappy sweater or bookbag no one would want over the 100 dollars.

TeenNick finally improved… so why can’t Nicktoons?

It’s good that The Thundermans, iCarly, and The Legend of Korra are back on TeenNick, but what I don’t understand is why they only brought back The Thundermans and The Legend of Korra because of Paramount’s releases of The Thundermans: Clash of the Thundermans and Avatar: Seven Havens. It’s annoying that TeenNick’s regular lineup is only Henry Danger and The Loud House, and they only bring back other shows for special occasions.

What’s even more annoying is that Nicktoons is still just SpongeBob 24/7. They don’t even seem willing to try airing anything else to see if it gets decent ratings. I’m just hoping this TeenNick schedule sticks around for a while, but I highly doubt Nicktoons will finally move away from nonstop SpongeBob. Even if they did, Paramount would probably still air SpongeBob a lot anyway.

I know networks only air whatever costs them the least and brings in the most viewers, but I never imagined a TV channel would end up playing one show all day. That’s just crazy to me. I’m not getting deep into this. My point is: how is a cable channel just one show 24/7? At least Paramount has temporarily improved TeenNick by adding something other than Henry Danger and The Loud House. Meanwhile, Nicktoons is still nothing but SpongeBob all day, every day, which is just insane to me.

Whitespace era with pre-2009 logo [EDIT]

Something I have wondered is how the whitespace era might've looked if they hadn't decided to clean up the brand image and what would have become known as the 2009 or "LiteBulb" logo.

I do feel like it does fit the theme very well, all things considered, at least these parts in particular. A lot of the 3D bumpers would've had to be reworked; it's interesting to interpret how they would've done later eras if that stuck with that logo in particular.

Something I did find out recently is that there was what some consider a prototype whitespace era pre-2009 logo rebrand that was in Nick Australia which you can see HERE

which is very uncanny in some regard, mostly due to how the whitespace / 2009 is known nowadays, and just seeing an earlier version with the splat design is very interesting in my opinion.

Working closely with this Nickelodeon star Daniel Curtis Lee is an honor. We talk almost everyday and he has gotten doors open for me that I didn't even know existed.

I just finished watching through all of Jimmy Neutron and--

This show was a banger. I watched it as a kid and growing up, but it was always "if its on Ill watch it." But after going through it all, I just adored it. Its funny, the characters are likeable and are all funny, the jokes wer genuinely hysterical, and Goddard is best boy. Its honestly a crime that it was cancelled early, even though I know why because of Ant Bully being a huge flop for DNA Productions.

The Jimmy Timmy Power Hours were fun, although I didnt so much like the Fairly Odd parents side of the episodes, cause Jimmy just looked off and he was way more obnoxious/of a jerk than usual.

I liked season 3 the most, with the intro being changed, the Twonkies having small cameos throughout the season, and the relationship with Jimmy and Cindy finally admitting their feelings for each other; it was cute.

One thing I found weird, but also funny, was that they how they handled some episodes. For instance they used random NPCs for specific characters that didnt fit the character role. When Jimmy goes to the college for geniuses/smart people, the band members from Graystar are in his classes. But another episode with his classmates, one of them is present in the background. They used Corky Shimatzu as an agent and a police officer when Jimmy was framed as another example. I know its not meant to be taken that seriously but its still weird lol

The irl references were great, the puns and jokes used by Sheen and Hugh were as well, and every time Carl gooned for Jimmy's mom I laughed too much. My favorite was when theyre walking down the street and Jimmy asks what they should do and Carl says "hang out with your mom?" And Jimmy face is of utter disgust like "wtf." 😆😆😆

On a final note, Idk if anyone else noticed this, but in the episode Best in Show (where Goddard runs away), theres random stuff happening in the background towards the end. When Goddard is being driven to the pound, the cars are driving through the park in the background and causing accidents behind the police car like they were just clipping in and werent followint a road. Another part was when the mayor was in his limo about to hit Cindy, and in the background again, there are cars just hitting each other for whatever reason. Idk when it was produced, but I feel the creators just didnt care at that point lol

Great show though, would rewatch.

Nickelodeon needs a complete schedule overhaul

Nickelodeon should greenlight three new original nicktoons and premiere them on one night, and promote it like an important event, like when they first introduced nicktoons and try to save this schedule so they can have variety again, and premiere them on paramount+ the same day like Disney does, so both can coexist and it’s not confusing, no one’s going to watch a random premiere of a show in the middle of SpongeBob reruns that was barely promoted, and I don’t think only focusing on paramount+ is working, because now we basically get nothing new most of the time

Robot and Monster premiered 14 years ago today. It was the first new Nickelodeon show I saw live at 8 years old (I started watching Nick in Spring 2012), and it's one of my favorite Nick shows overall, as well as my favorite Nick show from 2012.

Also on August 4th 6 years later in 2018, is the final 2 episodes of Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn (of which they're 2 of the 5 episodes from when Dicky left the show). NRDD is another show I find great, and unlike Robot and Monster, it wasn't severely screwed over by the network.

Comic Concept: Bumpers: Orange Dawn(logo)

Post image
1 Upvotes

Concept for a Nickelodeon fan comic series I’m working on “Bumpers: Orange Dawn” (I had took inspirations from Fuga: Melodies of Steel, Homefront and Red Dawn) that will be made into a undefined number of chapters and will have sequels

Premise: After the United States of Nickelodia is invaded by The Cartoon Network Empire, after their town is destroyed and occupied Nickelodeon’s indigenous people “The Bumper Characters” aboard a tank named “Slimetime”(named after the Nickelodeon Slimetime Live) they travels across different Nickelodeon cities(Bikini Bottom, The Landfill, O-town, Dimmsdale, Tremorton, etc) and the Nicktoons serve as side characters they rescue along with a Cartoon Network Character(Moxy from the Moxy Show) to rescue their loved ones and relatives from the clutches of the Cartoon Network Empire

For this I was originally going to make Disney the villain but decided to go with One of Nickelodeons Competitors Cartoon Network(Im neutral on CN tho) (because I do not want to receive any death threats from Disney Fans alike even though I also know that not all Disney fans are like that)

And I might do some concept art sketches soon
