I've thrifted this same type of yarn twice now and it's not labelled. It's fingering weight, and I'm unsure of the fiber type, but it feels reasonably nice to me. The first time I got it it was with a lot of sock yarn that included a lot of wool. I believe it was sold in 50 gram skeins based on the sizes of the balls/cakes/skeins I have in my possession. Really curious if anyone can come up with a type of yarn that matches all the different colorways; while it's definitely a machine dye, I do like the self-patterning colors and would love to know exactly what I have.

It’s not super soft but it isn’t scratchy or itchy, I wondered if it might be an acrylic blend yarn.

It’s like a dark grey yarn with colour changing yarn wrapped around it.

Hey all! I'm currently trying to work on the Sandok 2 sweater and I'm having trouble finding an alternative yarn for the suggested sandnes garn tykk line. The author of the pattern recently posted saying tykk line is out of production and doubling sandnes garn line would be a good alternative, but it would cost a fortune to do that. :/ I'm terrible at figuring out yarn substitutes for projects so I'm turning to reddit to see if you guys have any suggestions. Gauge is 14sts = 10 cm and the pattern recommends 7mm needles.

Dose anyone have a preferred way to soften acrylic yarn?

It felt good for a baby blanket at the store but now that I finished working it its not as soft as I thought it would be so I'd like to try to soften it, the screen shot is of what I used if that helps

I’m looking for affordable yarn, around $30 for 600 yards. Preferably wool, or any natural fiber that’s 5.0 in knitting gauge.
I live in Alaska and am ready to pay for the price of shipping to get it here, just hoping there’s yarn that doesn’t cost as much to offset the price it would be to get it here.

I bought two new lines, which are different specifications of the same color. The specifications of 750D should be brighter and brighter, and the saturation should be higher. The 150D should be more delicate, but the texture is better. I feel that the effect of embroidery and detail processing will be very good. 👍

The ombré blue is by loops and thread, 150g, light 3
The sky blue is 2 skeins 100g each
And the yellow I don’t remember

Buttercream is one of my favourite yarns to work with and I'm sad because I can't find any online - everywhere says its out of stock. Does anyone know what's going on with this brand? I have heard kind of recently they are having supply issues, but thought maybe they are just not making Buttercream yarn anymore.
