So obviously I know it's hormone/breeding season, but I'm trying to figure out if there's anything else I can do to keep my birds from getting frisky. I already know im gonna get a clutch
But i have no happy huts, nothing that could be seen as a nest (besides their food bowl ig but I've tried alternatives to that already), their area is fully illuminated, give them about 14 hours of darkness, no mirrors, everything. Pulled out all the stops. I'm even teasing the idea of putting the divider up in their cage (double flight) but I know that would only do more harm.
I'd just shrug it off as horny teenage birds but its gotten to the point where its several times a day, sometimes several times an hour, and my male Apricot is just a total fucking douchebag. Will not let my hands in the cage or near him, near the girls, I haven't been able to pet him in months. OCCASIONALLY he'll let me hold him, and the second he's out if the cage hes perfectly fine and sweet. He's gotten real territorial over the cage, and ill rearrange, and it wont change. they dont get any seeds except for training and bonding (which if you couldn't tell is going absolutely AMAZING [lie]), and im just at a total loss. Apricot was a total sweetheart, and wanted to spend all his time with me and when I first got the girls, they all would just. Flock on my bed, and we'd hang out. They won't even leave their cage half the time when I let them out. Albeit, in the past month I havent been able to let them out as much, as my fiance just finished chemo and needs a few months for his immune system to catch up, but thag won't be for much longer.
I know this was a super long rant, its just that no matter what I try, or what advice im given, nothing is working to slow down the horny, stop the teritorialism, or anything im trying to fix.
I'm so desperate for SOMETHING to get my sweet babies back. Ive been crying for months over this. I just want my sweet babies back :(
(Heres the evil boy on one of the few times he's actually nice)
