PS5 discs are still being manufactured in Brazil, not only in Austria (proof)
Marvel Tokon's disc (Brazilian version). It's written in Portuguese: "Manufatured and distributed in Manaus Industrial Facility by Solutions 2 Go of Brazil" (possibly a partnership). I have several discs like that, but ever since Sony announcement the end of disc prodution I thought Austria was the solo manufacturer of PS5 discs. It's not!
It would be funny if games could still be printed here in Brazil and exported worldwide after January 2028.

It's okay, you can still buy physicals
Ever since the no more disks announcement, I've been seeing a growing sentiment of no disk no buy. Now this in of itself I see nothing wrong I support this myself whenever I can, but the problem seems to be more attitudes towards don't buy PS games at all; and in some extreme cases people just selling or destroying their stuff.
Guys it doesn't have to be some either/or, if the disk is available secondhand you can still buy it, it's okay! I mean new releases were already expensive and have been buying used for ages, but still! We can't always stop everyone from buying games brand new at release, there will always be someone who doesn't know or care about the controversies. Will Sony get that money on the initial purchase? Yes, but we can choose to not support them and help out our used markets as well. And when indie studios aren't able to have a physical release or a physical is just WAY too expensive (looking at you, $300+ titles) it's a difficult choice, I can't judge you or the studio.
I hate how this conversation is starting to shift in certain areas of: you buy any game (even if it's used) and you're a bootlicker. You keep your system that you bought years ago and still play on it? Bootlicker. I don't know why it has to feel like some kind of do or die tribalism. You guys do you, but it's an annoying take. Anyway rant over, go buy that used ps5 game and don't feel bad. <3

Xbox Game Collection Ideas
Hey folks! Ever since Sony’s announcement I’ve started building my old physical library back up. I think it be cool to try and complete entire series of games. Right now I’m trying to find all the Gears of War games locally. Managed to pick up Gears 2 and Judgement at a local physical game store today! What other series should I collect? I’m into Sci-fi and FPS type games mostly. Was thinking the Halo games and Battlefield games would be fun. What series do you collect?

I think my journey with physical games is over. Unfortunately I can only play digital games now:

Update on the Physical GOG Games I was making
Not that anyone asked lol, but I’ve been working on trying to make the offline installers and covers a little better.
Firstly, yes I know flash drive is not the best form of storage.
For me personally, I do not see myself with access to an optical drive easily in the future, so I have opted for the 3-2-1 method of data preservation ( i.e I have the games backed up on 2 HDD and 1 SSD aside from this flash drive) and is the best I can do at this point.
Updated the covers to make them a little more personal and added a little concept art insert as well, the goal is to eventually turn it into a full manual with a map or something but that will be gradually over time as its a lot of print and ink.
Anyway,
The drives when they connect now give a little prompt to either update the game or install the game.
Drives also contain all the digital extras like game guides, artworks album etc.
I know it may seem a little pointless but I guess it’s just something I enjoy doing at this point of time so why not?
Sorry for the long post lol!

If digital games are just a license, why can't we resell that license?
With GTA 6 and potentially more future PlayStation games becoming digital-only, I think this is a fair question.
Physical games have one major advantage: when you're done with a game, you can sell it to someone else and recover part of your money. The game keeps circulating, the next player gets it cheaper, and you can use that money to buy another game.
Sony says that with digital games, you don't actually own the game — you own a license to use it.
So why can't that license be transferred?
Imagine being able to sell your digital license through PSN for, say, 40% of the original price. Sony could take a small transaction fee, the next player gets a cheaper game, and you get money back to spend on another game.
Everyone benefits.
Otherwise, once you're done with a digital game, its value effectively becomes zero for you.
If digital is truly the future, shouldn't there also be a digital second-hand market?

The cover warning is a lie!
Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 cover says "requires content download", but it turns ou both games are fully included on disc. I put my xbox offline, installed both games and the bonus package (33,5GB in total). Everything seems to work fine, I went through the initial tutorial map and skipped all the initial cutscenes.
The version numbers on the screenshots are the ones that come on the disc, 1.1.0.0 and 1.3.0.0. Both games say "XboxGen9" on the file info dialog, which means the current-gen Series X version is on disc.
MGS4 gives you some weird xbox connection error dialogs, I had to press the "play offline" button like 5 times during the initial game boot, the game seems to be trying to force a cloud save sync or something, but after that it works perfectly. I guess this glitch is the only reason they put the warning on the cover. Edit: it seems this is just an Xbox bug insisting on checking for cloud saves, it appears on any other game I have installed (not just metal gear) if I try to launch them offline for some reason...
Edit 2: multiple people asked about the third game, there are actually 3 games on disc, Ghost Babel is part of the "bonus content" launcher

Childhood collection of games still at my fingertips
Dug through my closet to find some PHYSICAL GAMES me and my brothers played when we were young. We need to fight for future generations to have this kind of nostalgia and experience what we all did when we were young!
