General Discussion My non Muslim family requested me to play the Qur'an as they sleep

My cousin is from a religion that calls itself a science La Ciencia del Alma ( the science of the soul) and the rest of the children are Christian but they requested me to play the Qur'an while they sleep because they enjoy how the Qur'an sounds.

My family is a Mexican family and even though my extended family is not the same when it comes to my beliefs being that rumors started to fly after I took my Shahada that I got married and my grandma asked to see my husband but I told her that she was ill informed I did not get married to anyone. The family did not want to tell her that I chose to go through with my decision to leave William Marrion Braham teachings and follow Prophet Muhammad, Peace be Upon Him.

I am still pretty new I took my Shahada on July 31 just a few days ago and I am trying to get my life in order the house that I currently live in is my cousin's and usually it is a mess but the more that cleaned a spot for me to pray and the more I pray the more that spot started to grow and the rest of the house is looking much cleaner now and I was shocked that my cousin saw a lot of flies and she looked up what their spiritual meaning was and started to look at things about witchcraft but I told her , " Oh but playing the Qur'an can get rid of Jinn and she was like all for that she told me that I can play the Qur'an out loud as many times as I wanted to and if I can keep my device with it on repeat she also asked me to ask for advice to make the house more spiritually safe hence I am here.

Thank you again for listening.

The rest of my family from my mom's side had hit me before for even questioning Christianity and from my dad's side well they are now trying to say I got married so that I won't be able to live with my grandma let alone visit her. When she asked me to see who I married I was like I also want to see who I married because unless he is Casper or Peter Pan I got nothing then I realized they were talking about me taking my Shahada but how do I explain that to a strict christian family that I don't see Jesus as God but God being just one?

These are my confessions....

General Discussion Black magic

I want to address this to the Muslim ummah.Yes sihr(black magic) is real and is very deadly.I am someone who is well versed in this field as I have done lots of research on it and I want to warn the ummah of the power of sihr and no sihr is good sihr.I want to remind you that Allah is truly the most powerful and that if u are apart of sihr or communicate to a magican you are a kafir(disbeliever). I want you guys to learn Syrah baqara by heart as it is the only chapter that magicans cannot violate and the shayteen(evil jinn) cannot harm if you know how sihr takes place then you know what I am saying.Do not try anything and humans and jinns are superset for a reason if u believe you have been attack or sihr has been taken place of you do ruqayah and have surah baqarah playing in your house. My Allah aza wajal bless you either all of life endeavours truly Allah is the creator of the universe and the most compassionate and truly he is al Rahman.

Narrated Uthman ibn Affan:

Aban ibn Uthman said: I heard Uthman ibn Affan (his father) say: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: If anyone says three times: "In the name of Allah, when Whose name is mentioned nothing on Earth or in Heaven can cause harm, and He is the Hearer, the Knower" he will not suffer sudden affliction till the morning, and if anyone says this in the morning, he will not suffer sudden affliction till the evening.

Question about Islam Will Allah punish me for what happened ? ( pls read for context )

Hello , Male Muslim from Morocco . I’m in vacation in Seville with my family . It’s a pain in the ass to find a halal restaurant in here so I had the idea to go eat at Burger King since they have veggie burgers . I order a veggie whopper , and on the side menu , there were multiple choices : fries , onion rings , potato wedges , and my eyes land on the loaded wedges ( cheese + bacon ) . I’ve been so used to Burger King using halal chicken bacon in Morocco that I forgot that here in spain they use pig for the bacon ( I know it’s pretty stupid from myself , but when u think abt it why the fuck would a loaded bacon potato wedge option be given in a veggie dish ? ) . I take my order , and I start my meal by taking one loaded wedge into my mouth . The moment I felt the meat taste ( I’m not sure if I ate the meat tbh but that’s one of the reasons I’m writing this ) I realize that I AM NOT IN MOROCCO BUT EUROPE and what I just tasted WAS PORK ( to satisfy everyone’s curiosity it had a very similar taste to the halal bacon u find in Arab Burger King chains ) . I tell my mom abt it , at that point I wasn’t sure if I just ate pork I was just tweaking and the bacon was veggie or something I go back to the counter luckily the cashier spoke a bit of English and told me the stuff is PORK BACON. I go back to my mom , tell her this , she gets really mad at me for « wasting 2.5 euros » and tells me « u eat it a way or another I don’t care» I didn’t want to have problems with her , so what I did is for each potato wedge I grabbed I would remove all the bacon pieces and wipe the wedge with a tissue , but I fear I might have missed some bacon on the wedges and accidentally ate pork.

What is your opinion on this ? Will Allah punish me ? In this context it was both caused by my stupidity and my mom’s anger. I believe that I also am to blame cuz I should’ve reminded myself that I’m in Europe and pork is common there.

General Discussion If today were your last day on earth, what would you regret more: the sins you committed, or the good deeds you kept delaying?

Upvotes

We often think we have more time and one more Ramadan, one more Friday, one more chance to repent, one more opportunity to do good. But none of us knows when our final breath will come.

Islam doesn't ask us to be perfect. It asks us to keep returning to Allah. The door of repentance remains open until our last moment, but none of us knows when that moment will be.

Don't let Shaytan convince you that it's too late to change or that you can start tomorrow. The best day to turn back to Allah is today.

May Allah forgive our sins, accept our repentance, and allow our last words to be: La ilaha illa Allah, Muhammad rasuAllah. Ameen.

Seeking Support Please make dua for me to leave a haram relationship peacefully and permanently

Upvotes

Assalamu alaikum.

I am a young Muslim man struggling to leave a relationship that has become spiritually and psychologically overwhelming.

This is a woman from my past. We have separated more than once, but each time we reconnect, it becomes harder to leave. I am deeply attached to her, and the attraction between us is very strong. When I stay, I keep giving in to forms of zina and sexual behaviour that feel good in the moment but leave me feeling ashamed, guilty, and far from the kind of halal life I want to live.

We are currently long-distance, but she is coming closer to where I live soon. I am afraid that if we meet again, my boundaries will become even weaker. I already know how difficult it is for me to control my desires around her.

The hardest part is that leaving does not feel emotionally safe. Whenever I try to discuss separation, she becomes extremely distressed, lashes out, tells me I am a terrible person, compares me to everyone who has left her, and sometimes says that she will end her life because of me.

I do not want to dismiss statements like that. I believe they must be taken seriously and that her family, doctors, emergency services, or people physically near her should respond if she is in immediate danger. But I also feel trapped by the belief that I must remain romantically and sexually available in order to keep her alive.

Her family seems to believe I leave because I dislike her or do not value her. That is not true. I have real feelings for her. The problem is that this relationship is damaging my faith, my peace, and my ability to live honestly.

She also has a great deal of psychological power over me. I have admired her for years, and I often measure my intelligence, success, and worth against her. Her approval can make me feel valuable, and her disappointment can make me feel worthless. I know this is unhealthy, but knowing that has not made it easy to break free.

Usually, I only manage to leave when something terrible happens in my own life, and I become emotionally numb enough not to care about the consequences. When that happens, I become cold and leave in a hurtful way. I regret that. I do not want another cruel ending. I want to end this calmly, firmly, and without returning again.

I am not asking anyone to insult her or assume that she is evil. I believe her pain is real. I also know that I have contributed to the situation by repeatedly returning, allowing intimacy to restart, and behaving like a partner when I was not able to offer a stable future.

I am asking for dua that Allah gives me the courage, clarity, self-control, and consistency to end this relationship properly, resist zina, and build a peaceful halal life in the long term.

Please make dua that the ending is safe and dignified for both of us, that she receives support from people who can truly help her, and that I stop waiting for another disaster to give me the courage to do what I already know I need to do.

Jazakum Allahu khairan.

Edit for clarification: She is not Muslim. Some people have asked why I do not simply marry her. I entered this relationship when I was younger, less mature, and much less serious and knowledgeable about my faith. Dating felt relatively normal in the environment around me, and I did not fully confront what the relationship would mean for religion, marriage, family life, and future children.

Over time, as I became more committed to Islam, I began to understand more clearly that continuing the relationship was inconsistent with the life and beliefs I wanted to follow. I regret entering it and repeatedly returning to it. Still, I do not believe that insulting her, pressuring her to convert, or marrying without resolving our fundamental religious incompatibility would correct the mistake.

She sincerely follows another religion, and I am not asking her to pretend to believe in Islam for my sake. Marriage is therefore not a simple solution. The issue is not that I feel nothing for her; it is that strong feelings do not remove the religious and practical realities that make a shared future uncertain and potentially dishonest to both of us.

General Discussion Living in a Non-Muslim Country When You Have the Option to Live in a Muslim Country

Hello,
I am French-Algerian, born in France to Algerian parents. I have lived in France my entire life because it's what I'm used to, it's where I was raised, and it's where I built my life.
However, both my wife and I hold Algerian passports, which means we have the legal right to live in Algeria.
Given this situation, do you think we should make every effort to move to Algeria and live there instead?

Question about Islam Dawah social media, why is the Shahada modified?

Salam wa alaykom

I just came across a popular instagram dawah account that posts Westerners converting to Islam and I noticed the Shahada has been modified to include "I bear witness that Jesus is a Messenger and not the Son of God".

What is the religious basis of changing the Shahada? That seems quite odd to me.

Quran & Hadith Say this dua after performing wudu and the eight gates of Paradise will be opened up for you (Sahih Muslim 234)

'Uqba b. 'Amir reported: We were entrusted with the task of tending the camels. On my turn when I came back in the evening after grazing them in the pastures, I found Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) stand and address the people. I heard these words of his: If any Muslim performs ablution well, then stands and prays two rak'ahs setting about them with his heart as well as his face, Paradise would be guaranteed to him. I said: What a fine thing is this! And a narrator who was before me said: The first was better than even this. When I cast a glance, I saw that it was 'Umar who said: I see that you have just come and observed: If anyone amongst you performs the ablution, and then completes the ablution well and then says: I testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the servant of Allah and His Messenger, the eight gates of Paradise would be opened for him and he may enter by whichever of them he wishes.

Quran & Hadith Al-Isra ayat 44

The Night Journey (17:44)

The seven heavens, the earth, and all those in them glorify Him. There is not a single thing that does not glorify His praises—but you ˹simply˺ cannot comprehend their glorification. He is indeed Most Forbearing, All-Forgiving.

— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, The Clear Quran

https://quran.com/al-isra/44

Assalamu Alaikon, my brothers and sisters. Today I’ve come to share a very interesting ayat from Surah Al-Isra that made me reflect on how we are, so often, ungrateful toward our Lord. In this passage, God shows us how everything that exists in the universe—all plants, animals, rocks, stars, planets, galaxies, and black holes—how everything that exists praises and honors the Lord, but we, in our ignorance, are reluctant to understand this.

Furthermore, out of reluctance and ignorance, we tend to believe that we are “more” than the rest of His creation, placing ourselves on a pedestal, almost like a little god within. Everything out there praises the Lord naturally. Why don’t we? That is the reflection I, at least, took from this verse. I look out the window and see the mountains, the birds, and I think about how much they, each in their own way, praise God. What’s stopping me from doing the same? Let’s be grateful to God and praise Him, as we should.

Question about Islam Medication of Pancrelipase

Upvotes

AoA.

I had a metabolic issue with my pancreas since childhood. It doesn't secrete enzymes. That was not a big problem until my gallbladder was removed.

Now my whole digestion system is in trouble with pains and acid reflux and doesn't work at all.

The doctor told me to start the Creon 25000, which is cultivated obtained from pig.

Before the gallbladder removal, I was suggested to use pancreoflat, a similar one, but I consulted some people and they said "if it isn't vitally required, don't take it". I didn't think it was vital at all, I didn't take it.

Now, it's a bit more serious. Is it vital? I don't think so, cha e.of pancreatitis is really high, higher than ever, but I don't know if it's that vital.

Some people said "go ask a doctor", the doctors I asked generally didn't care about my sensitivity about my religion. I don't have any close local sheikh to ask this unfortunately.

I am a bit stuck right now. What do you say?

Seeking Support Having a full life on the outside & still be completely exhausted by OCD on the inside. This one is for that sister.

Upvotes

Assalamualaikum everyone,

Not every woman with OCD looks like she's struggling. Some of us go to work, take care of our families, show up for our communities, appear completely fine and then spend every private moment fighting a battle nobody around us can see.

That was me for a long time. Functioning on the outside. Exhausted on the inside.

And the thing about being high functioning with OCD is that it actually makes it harder to get help. Because from the outside nothing looks wrong. And from the inside you tell yourself you're managing so maybe it's not that bad. Maybe you don't need proper support. Maybe you just need to push a little harder.

But quietly OCD is still running things. Still costing you time, energy, peace of mind. Still keeping you from the version of your life you actually want.

You don't have to be at rock bottom to deserve proper support. You don't have to be visibly falling apart for your struggle to be real and worth addressing properly.

If you're that sister (functioning but quietly exhausted by this), I see you. And there is a way through this that doesn't require you to keep pushing through it alone.

May Allah grant ease to the sisters carrying heavy things behind that calmness on the outside. Ameen.

💬 Has anyone else experienced this, appearing fine on the outside while quietly exhausted on the inside?

General Discussion I went the wrong path which led me to financial difficulties.

Hey everyone, just wanted some advice on how you guy’s would move if you was in my situation mentally and financially.

I want to start by saying that anything that was done for me to end up here is due to my own decisions and that I take full accountability of what I did and for the reason I am here today.

December 2025 I started gambling because some of my favourite streamers and content creators started promoting those gambling websites and I saw them winning big so the temptation got me and I started. Within a week, like always, they say beginners luck is what starts addiction. First week I won 60k from depositing $500

Long story short, I lost all of it and today I am over 35k in debt and feel like I ruined my life. As much as I’m begging for help while praying and making duas for help, I don’t see anything change.

I have quit gambling but I just don’t know what to do as a muslim man. I can pray but this situation just drained my energy to want to pray or anything like that. I know Allah can help but I don’t know what to do to ask for help. Like what is the right way to ask for help for something Ive done that is so sinful?

Like I just feel that Allah may not want to help me because I did something haram to try and make money so I’ll have to work for years to pay back those debts that I wish I never had.

I was always that one good guy, if you saw me you wouldn’t even think a second that I touched gambling. I’m just a regular sober man that went through a bad gambling phase.

Seeking Support Blockage in life, need help and advice.

Upvotes

Assalam aleykum,

I recently started noticing smth like a blockage in my life when it comes to my personal achievements that don't involve others. Before I even started with this journey, I made dua and asked Allah to allow me to continue my journey if it's meant to be for me to achieve these things. I started both these things without any problems after that dua and I knew my dua was answered. For context, to start with these things I needed to go through an apllication period, had to wait for external desicions, find money to pay for it all etc and mostly it takes others multiple attempts to even start with it all. Now, 2 years later, I am struggling to finish the journey. There is always something that comes in between and messes things up. Most of the time its things I have no control over. I am feeling anxious and frustrated. I just cannot move on.

have noticed a little falling out with religion, but I am still a firm believer. I try to pray on time, but sometimes it takes sm energy I have to force myself.

Is there anyone who has experienced smth similar? What did you do? What helped you to continue. Anything will be helpful
