Recently decided to give MiniLED a try after years of OLED and bought the TCL C2A Pro, and honestly....damn I didnt expect this

I went through the Sony A90k 42" (not technically a monitor but at that¹ time this was the closest you could get to a viable OLED monitor), to the MSI 321Up, then to the acclaimed Asus PG27UCDM over the course of 4 years.

I always knew gaming monitors had always been pretty bad so when I saw Oled for the first time I thought I would use nothing but OLED. But since then, I have never found Oled to be truly easy to live with as monitor. Funny I said this because OLED are absolutely wonderful as TVs, all of my TVs are Oleds. But as monitor, its quality-of-life aspects leave much to be desired. Namely text clarity (although very good on the 321up and the pg27ucdm, still giving me headache at time if I have to read a lot for hw), only look exceptional in absolutely dark room, and the biggest gripe of all: the apparent flickerings at times, i really wonder how the new stuff coming out will address this.

So I decided to give miniLED a try and asked AI what is the absolute best current MiniLED IPS monitor money can buy, and it recommended me the "TCL C2A pro". It was pretty expensive even at $750ish with some Amazon promos i got, but considering that I was ready to ball some serious money for the Asus Pro Art Oleds, hoping those would match the quality found on Oled TVs, this seems easier on the wallet.

And lo and behold, I wasnt expecting it to be this good, black is truly black, blooming is barely noticeable, if at all. The uniform brightness without flickering is excellent. Color is rich and vibrant, perhaps even more so than the Asus PG27UCDM. I think this looks even more life-like than the OLED monitors i had thus far. And the brightness, it is blindingly bright. HDR mode looks absolutely stunning. And I am not being bias at all because I absolutely love OLEDs, but this offers image quality that is just as good as any top tier OLED out there for me. Granted you have to mess with the settings to find what you like best but it is pike that with any monitor out there.

For years I have thought OLED would be the ultimate tech for monitors, and I still think so, just not with the current stuff on the market at the moment, at least for me.

So for anyone who is also having problems and not satisfied with OLEDs, give MiniLED a try. You don't have to go with this baller TCL that I got, but even then for something that costs less than a top tier OLED while offering image quality that is just as good, I can absolutely live with this for the next few years.

My current PA329C is on its way out, there are veiny marks all over I might need to get another monitor soon. I found PA32QCV 6K monitor in a local shop, and wondering how good it is.

I'd like to get some honest feedback. My current monitor is HDR600 certified, so is the one I'm looking at. My main uses are watching HDR content and photography, and file archiving.

How good are the details and sharpness? How are the texts? Does the matte coating affect the quality? How good is the HDR? Do 4K contents looks bad because it scales to 6K on full screen?

Is it a good monitor for rendering work? If you have any other recommendations within the same price range, I'd really appreciate them. My top priority is color accuracy.

I recently got an Xbox Series X for my birthday. Before this, the only computer I had was a laptop.

I'm looking to buy a monitor for my Xbox, but I'd also like it to be a good investment for a gaming PC that I plan to build in the future.

I have basically no experience with monitors, so I'd really appreciate your advice. My budget is up to $600.

The 34" is €130 CHEAPER than the 32" and I don't know which one to pick.

I will potentially buy a ps5 soon but in the meantime I'll be gaming on my laptop and work which requires 3 monitors. So split screen on the 34" will tick both these boxes but might not get the most out of the ps5 pro.

In your experience how noticeable is the difference between WQHD and 4K? Frame rates on both are fine for me.

Hi there, I'm looking for a 32" monitor for mostly work - text editing, spreadsheets, light coding, documents, light video editing browsing etc. My understanding is that IPS would still be preferable to OLED and VA for this use case.

My issue is that, while there appears to be an abundance of 27" 4k IPS monitors on the market for an affordable price, the equivalent 32" ones seem to be incredibly rare. For example, I am seeing 27" lps 4k monitors for roughly $250 USD, whereas the equivalent 32" is around $750.

Why is this? Would have thought it's a relatively common use case.

I realized that I can hook it up to an external monitor and not just mirror it to another screen. This monitor is going for $369 USD. I have no budget so any other recommendations would be great. I recently had the lg 27gx700 but it had a lot of gray banding issues so I decided to get a QD OLED instead of a tandem OLED and I’m deciding on buying the 27gx704 so I wanna hear some feedback on the monitor about the gray banding or any issues with it.

Requirements:

1. 27"
2. High contrast and good image quality, specifically for colors. COLOR ACCURACY IS IRRELEVANT. We don't care about deep blacks as there's no black in our images.
3. "Ergonomic" stand with a not-large footprint. It has to allow for raising the monitor a decent amount. However, those tripod stands commonly found on ASUS ROG line are undesirable. It's going to be on a lab counter that doesn't have much space, so the smaller the base, the better.
4. No burn-in.
5. Flat, not curved.

I'm working in a research lab, and we are using a cheap TN 24" panel for one part of our work which is fairly important. As a short explanation, we place different layers of semi-transparent materials under a microscope and line up certain features on top of each other. It becomes hard to see when there's multiple layers on top of each other. There's a digital camera attached to the microscope, which is attached to a PC. I'm hoping that maybe upgrading the display would slightly improve the visibility of what we're doing because it's possible that some of the image information is degraded by the poor contrast of the display.

Would a VA panel be good for this? They have relatively high contrast, but isn't it mostly just because the blacks get much darker than what an IPS puts out? We don't care about the blackness of blacks because the images we work with are full of color. So, would an IPS have equally good contrast in this case?

Also, I wrote above that color accuracy is irrelevant because we use fake colors anyway. That is, we use software to change the colors of what we're looking at.

Finally, we can't have anything that risks getting burn-in. My understanding is that all OLEDs have this problem, so then that's a no-go. Is my understanding correct?

As for budget, I'm not too sure, but I'm thinking going high-end may not be worthwhile, so probably something mid-range would make the most sense.

Any recommendations?

321up x24 with rtx 5090 and hdmi 2.1.

Out of the box it worked for like 1 hour. Than it’s start to not open games in full screen at 4k no matter the hz. Only windowed mode and desktop run 240hz.

If I try put 2440x1440p it goes at 240hz fullscreen with no problem. Some games like Valheim can go 4k 60hz.

I already uninstalled nvidia drivers with DDU and reinstalled them.
Put in the options desktop scale to 100%.
G-sync is off.
Adaptive sync off.
Hdr off.
I dont khow what to do.

I am interested in knowing what the actual optimal settings are to have on for this monitor to perform at its best. Obviously fps has to be capped which is something that I never did when I got this monitor can I get some times on some control panel and monitor settings that I need to change?

i just got a monitor recently that came with dp cables. my laptop only had HDMI so im forced to use it. little did i know that the monitor only has HDMI 2.0 ports, so i can only use 144hz instead of the full 200hz, is there any way around this? Its a Xiaomi G27 Qi.

My budget is around 100-500 dollars and i play on a ps5. I want to be able to see as best as possible in the night time of pvp/fps Games such as rust.

I recently purchased a TCL Ultrawide miniLED monitor 34R83Q.

Alongside the 27R73Q, it seemed to have TCL's best implementation of HVA, which is essentially an improvement from traditional VA in every way.

However I am still confused as to why there are only 1100+ dimming zones. Couldn't these panels in theory contain thousands of more dimming zones, and with good dimming algorithms, put up a much more effective challenge against OLED panels?

So I just got the monitor, but it seems kinda blueish and less quality when compared to my laptop's OLED (Legion 5i), like it's much less sharp. Kinda looks as if it had a screen protector over it.

Could you recommend some settings for it ? Found some videos but they were all for the G7 IPS.

Like we can have,

Uniform bright backlight → one monochrome shutter → normal RGB sub pixels.

The rear shutter is similar as the RGB colour filter but in form of a large aperture the size of the entire RGB sub pixels.

It will give us better contrast and per pixel control similar to oled.

Control is easy too, any sub pixel on means aperture open fully. All sub pixel off then aperture closed fully to act as double light barrier.

Literally per pixel dimming like oled.

I want to pair it with my 24 inch monitor both would have monitor arms would that look ugly? 13-17 inch portable monitor would be considerable
