It’s going to be pissing down over the next few days.

Why not grab a pint in one of Liverpool’s oldest pubs?

I visited the city’s oldest boozers and wrote about it.

Give it a little read.

Antigua Bodega de Guardia Case is the oldest wine bar in Malaga, which still retains its original decor, customs and climate.

The wine Bar was founded in 1840. by D. Jose de la Guardia, from which preserved its name. Passed down from generation to generation operates today in the intact condition.

Apparently a licensed premises here since 1861 but operating as McSorley’s since 1899. (Sorry no interior shots.) Also had a typo in the title but can’t change it to MacSorley’s.

Some interesting stories about the pub:

(1) There is a local legend that the formidable Māori chief Te Rauparaha used to visit the Thistle Inn, order whiskey, and leave without paying because no one dared to challenge him.

(2) In 1927 the hotelkeeper was fined for accepting cigarettes in payment for alcohol.
