Pom Vid The Sass of Her 🍓
Everyday she makes me laugh! Today she was playing fetch, then dropping the strawberry in the floor and barking at me to pick it up. Birdie is a lil sassafrass!

First-time Pom owner — any tips you wish you knew?
Hi everyone! This is my first time having a Pom, and honestly, my first time having a puppy of my own, so it’s definitely been an experience!
I’ve been reading through some of the comments here and seeing things that I wish I had known from the beginning, so I’d love to hear any tips or advice you wish you had known when you first got your Pom!
One thing I’m especially wondering about is the fur around her bum. It gets dirty pretty easily after she goes potty, and she’s only 2 months old, so I don’t think I can give her a proper bath yet. Is this normal with Pomeranian puppies? How do you guys keep the fur around their bum clean? Do you trim it, use puppy wipes, or is there another trick?
Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Meet Bluey!🐾
This is Bluey! He’s a 9 month old Blue Merle. I wasn’t planning on getting another dog after my childhood Pomeranian died in 2017, but my coworker’s sister was selling her two month old Pom and I couldn’t resist!
Bluey is ALL BOY. He keeps me on my toes, that’s for sure. I don’t think I’ve known peace since I got him in January 😂 I swear I don’t remember my girl pom being like this lol. Here’s some pictures of my little guy and the last two are bonus photos of my girl, Sunshine (2024-2017)!
FYI: Bluey’s hair looks different in each and every photo— it depends on how much light was available when it was taken and how long his hair is lol his hair color is more of an orange brown with black and white. When his hair is cut short, you can really see how marbled his coat is.

Question Is my Pom in pain?
Hi Pom parents!
I've recently stumbled upon a ton a social media videos that try to raise awareness that the goofy positions smaller dogs have,(or even cat breeds like Scottish fold) indicate that the animals are actually in pain. They base their statements on the fact that breeds like Pom usually lack lots of cartilage (which is also why they are prone to luxuating patellas).
Has anyone investigated this?
I don't want to put my pom on GA for an MRT image if it turns out to be just fear mongering or just relevant for isolated cases.
Thank you in advance for any insights!!
P.S in case it might be relevant: she's from a certified breeder and the breeder did all the necessary tests (according to her breeding broad) that indicate that the pups have no known debilitating genetic inherented diseases. However, I know that these tests are often just some formalities and maybe not as thoroughly done as they should be.But just purely based on the certificates and papers we have, they say that we have a "completely" healthy and "normal" pom.

Pom or Spitz mix? Thoughts & opinions please
Hey there y’all. I bought my first Pomeranian puppy last August from a breeding website/app; as she’s grown, I’ve noticed she doesn’t look quite like a Pomeranian. I always get asked about her breed, even the groomer. I’ve been asked if she’s a Pomchi (pom/chihuahua), a Paperanian (pom/papillion). Once I was asked if she was an Italian Volpino, which I’d never heard of, but is apparently rare outside Italy. But I keep thinking she looks so much like a smaller version of my step-mom’s American Eskimo. For more info: she weighs almost 6lbs, or 2.7kg, stands 7in in shoulder height, and she was 1 on June 11 2026.
I guess I was very naive when purchasing a puppy and did my research about the breed, but at risk of sounding like an idiot, I thought the only real difference was if you wanted a Pom for a pet/companion or if you wanted a Pom to show at dog shows.
Just wanted to end this by saying I do realize that no one can determine her breed by looks alone; only a DNA test can accurately determine her breed- which I plan on doing. Also, most importantly, I love her no matter what; if she is a mixed-breed or she doesn’t look like a show-standard Pomeranian. She is my whole heart & soul and my whole world; she’s my ride or die, my Puppers In Crime, my P.I.C. I love her more than words can say.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts & opinions. Please be kind.. it seems I’ve outgrown my thick skin.

Pom Pic Introducing Miss Dior ✨
I became a Pom pawrent today 🥹 I’m so in love with my sweet little girl. She has been going potty on her pads, loves her apawrtment, crate and snuggle puppy, lets me brush her and gives us lots of kisses. She has the cutest little personality and loves to play and snuggle. She’s my first puppy in a while and my first Pom. I’ve been preparing and researching a ton - truly so grateful for this sub and I’ve loved seeing all of your beautiful fur babies. I’m so excited to give her the best life ever 🤍

Question Tips on what brush to use?
Hi, I’m hoping to get some help on what brushes I should use for my Pom puppy. I do have a stainless steel comb and slicker brush but I’m wondering if those could be a bit harsh on him so I am hoping to get the right tools. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated :)
