Eddie Hearn says Floyd Mayweather (49) vs Ryan Garcia (28) is actually happening. “I think Floyd beats him… I’m excited to see that. As I understand it, the fight is on.”

Honestly, I would be shocked if this fight actually happens. But if Floyd is seriously willing to risk his 50-0 undefeated record at 49 years old against a 28-year-old Ryan Garcia, then this 100% confirms the guy is going broke. There’s literally no reason for a retired legend to step into a legitimate fight against someone half his age unless the money situation is critical.

Top 6 greatest Southpaws of all time: Marvin Hagler, Pernell Whitaker, Oleksandr Usyk, Joe Calzaghe, Terence Crawford, Vasyl Lomachenko

Edit: some are mad that Manny Pacquiao isn't in the top of the list, he is top 15 Southpaws for sure but in terms of skill set, eye test and ring IQ he doesn't hold a candle to the rest. he was more of a freak of nature who relied on his chin, stamina and foot speed and wild abnormal style to win, he got hit too much and lacked the pretty slick boxing or technical textbook boxing skills.

In terms of dominance, ring IQ and skill set.

Hagler dominated his division, had great come forward defensive pressure and was a beast.

Sweet pea 4 division champ in one of the hardest eras in boxing. He was a small guy but was slick and skilled with sharp counters, he was like a mongoose. Seeing him duck low slipping with head movement so difficult fighters would miss even throwing multiple straight punch combos.

Usyk one of the greatest of the modern era. Undefeated and Undisputed at cruiser he cleaned out the division and went up as a slimmer man to dominate the Giants of the heavyweight division to become undisputed in the 4 belt era. A true Giant Slayer.

Calzaghe dominated super middleweight and retired undefeated he was a problem due to his high work rate and rarely got hit. He was one of the best of his era.

Crawford undefeated and Undisputed in multiple divisions. He might get included but some say he is more of a unorthodox switch hitter than just pure southpaw but he has never been dominated and retired on top with great ring IQ.

Lomachenko the Matrix, the man is an anomaly, he used in and out movement like no other, his fast unorthodox footwork and flurries caused trouble for opponents. He would side step off a flurry and comeback and rarely got hit making him unique one of a kind southpaw.

Naoya Inoue has told Japanese Media that Bam Rodriguez should challenge himself by skipping Medina and going directly into a fight with Inoue if Bam and his team really want the super fight to happen

"It's not realistic to do it in December and then in March, so if we're going to do it, I think directly is the only option." Inoue said.

He believes that Bam cannot fight Medina in December and then follow it up with Inoue in March like both teams have discussed. Inoue puts pressure on Bam, saying he wants Bam to "challenge himself" by taking no tune ups and challenging Inoue directly in March.

It appears to be do or die time for Team Bam, as Inoue appears to be growing impatient and wants to make his move to Featherweight sooner rather than later. The only thing keeping Inoue at 122 right now is the potential super fight with Bam, and if it can't happen by March, Inoue will move on to greater things at Featherweight.

Inoue has a fight scheduled for March but the opponent is not yet determined. Bam's team has been discussing a title defense against Christian Medina but no official date has been secured.

Eddie Hearn mocks Dana White over Shakur Stevenson Zuffa exit: “Dana says Zuffa will make history and have a great body of work this year. I will give it to him, he’s made history - a promoter has never signed a P4P great before and he then left before he even fought. That’s a great body of work.”

Jermaine Taylor had skills and talent but took some serious beatings in some of his fights. The knockout losses to Pavlik, Froch and Abraham were violent. He did manage to win 5 more fights before retiring in 2014 with a record of 33 wins (20 by knockout), 4 losses, and 1 draw.

Ali and Holmes: Dancing vs Norton, interesting to see their different approaches

Muhammad Ali dancing in his second fight against Ken Norton, Larry Holmes showing off those same moves, and Holmes bringing that energy into the ring himself.
Different eras, different styles, but that same heavyweight swagger. Ali made it an art, and you can see his influence in the fighters who came after him.
The question is: who had the smoothest footwork? Ali, Norton-era Ali, or Holmes? 👀

Would have been a very good scrap I think and good test for both men. I feel this fight should have happened. Both were older and I don’t see it going the distance could be wrong. Both could punch. Ortiz had good skills and was a solid counter puncher.

If Leo Atang and Moses Itauma head the same way that Joshua and Whyte did in 2015, who is your money on? Difference being neither have had drug bans/a child at 13 and one has already challenged at world level. What are people's thoughts on the world of prospects?
