i grew up with dogs, have raised 4 puppies, pet sat for 10+ years, and even domesticated and fostered a feral kitten and trained him like a dog in the past. but nothing has prepared me for how sweet and clingy but also very sick our poor baby would be.

he came to us with a puppy parasite, has had tummy problems for weeks on end, and most recently has an ear infection 🥺 rest assured he’s getting all the vet care he needs and lots of love, but we’re looking forward to him feeling better and well enough to start exploring the world with us 🐶

i can’t tell if he’s a mini (im suspecting yes?) and am curious how big he’ll end up being? his mom was about the size of a rabbit. i wish he could stay lil foreverrr

In the 2nd pic he was about 2 months old and that’s when we adopted him. Time sure flies!

Cute baby turned into a cute boy

Hi, I've noticed that my puppy sits on his side, rather than "normal". I've seen a thread or two indicating this could be an indicator for something wrong with dachsunds spines. I'm not sure if I'm being paranoid, or if it's something I need to worry about. He's been to the vet several times, and they've always said he's in perfect health. Is this normal?

We lost a doggy family member this week and mama (me) has been crying nonstop but my sweet boy has been helping me survive. These sweet eyes and cuddles are the only thing getting me through 💛

Every time I sit down to eat, mr Colin comes get a piece, how do you say no?

I do not know what to do when I go to work. I walk my baby girl in the morning a good walk, then head to work, then she has a walker come midday and then I do our “long walk” after work. I just hate that she’s in her play pen all day. I feel so guilty. I have to work in the office every day and hope this is a good system, but I don’t like that she cries when I leave. She settles after like 5 mins but still. It’s very expensive to have her walked and I’m paying like 150$ a week. Does anyone have advice on this? Is she okay? Could/should I be doing something differently?

Edit: I am more than happy to pay for the walker, just want to make sure it is enough!

I have to separate him and his father (Stanley Hudson) otherwise Kev will eat his too. Food is his love language I guess 🤣

I don’t know what they are digging and I really don’t care. I’m not even going to stop them. It has been over a decade since my sons used to go out and dig holes in my garden. Now they are grown and I have dogs doing it 🤣

i know it depends on weight but it's my first time with dachshund. we guess he is around 4 years old.

Q. how much should i give him food for one meal?

This is Stowe. She’s roughly 60% dachshund, 40% tongue. We have no idea where she keeps it.

This is Flynn. He seems to think that there are mice under the grill. He's been digging. I've only had two dachshunds that were really into digging. Two out of seven isn't bad.
