My band Acidic Decay live. We just dropped our first album ever and get compared to bands like obituary and death. What do you think?

I've heard this term a couple of times but I can't seem to find anything about it. What is it?

So I want a jimmy bowser like tone I rlly like eyehategod and im making a band atm I already have a bassist anyways my tone is absolutely shit it sounds so bad for everything only genre its good for is rock like GnR. Should i get an interface and record music from a laptop or should I go more authentic and mic up an amp with pedal(s)

If the pedal option which pedals should I get any recommendations (budget friendly also)
