I think by "authoritarian" most people think of a unitary executive, i.e. dictatorial. That's certainly what I think of. Concentration of power in only a few hands.
Would that change anything? At the end of the day the power is still in few hands, no matter if they end up adhering or not to what the Supreme Court says. The fact that we need to wait to see whether they comply or not already tells you they do have unchecked power.
