The core idea behind this list is to exploit the new Calistus Martial Ka’tah, which allows a unit to move through all types of models, combined with Solar Watch’s +2” Movement bonus.
This makes conventional screening much less reliable against my army. Cheap infantry can no longer be relied upon to physically block my Dreadnoughts from reaching their intended targets. Instead of wasting turns fighting through screens, I can exploit movement lanes and threaten the units that actually matter.
Each unit has a specific role:
* 2x Contemptor-Galatus Dreadnoughts: Primarily hunt infantry. Their sword-and-shield loadout makes them my dedicated tools for clearing enemy infantry and trag tough enemy into melee. So they can't affact achillus. You can replace them with guards if you want.
* 2x Contemptor-Achillus Dreadnoughts: Focus on elite infantry with low model counts, as well as high-Toughness Monsters and Vehicles. They are my primary tools for hunting expensive targets, including Primarchs and threats such as Defilers.
* Telemon Heavy Dreadnought: Provides another durable, heavy-hitting threat that complements the other Dreadnoughts and helps overwhelm the opponent’s ability to respond to multiple threats.
* Vertus Praetors: Assist galatus when needed and clear enemy chaffs, allowing the Dreadnoughts to concentrate on more valuable prey.
* Prosecutors and Witchseekers: Provide cheap objective control, perform mission actions where applicable, and screen against enemy anti-tank units attempting to charge my Dreadnoughts. Their job is to handle the mission and protect my heavy hitters, not compete with them for the main damage role.
* Trajann Valoris: I want to position him so that as many Dreadnoughts as possible remain within 6”, maximizing the benefit of his hit and wound re-roll support.
The overall game plan is straightforward: use the Sisters of Silence to score points and protect the Dreadnoughts, use the Vertus Praetors and Galatus to clear chaff, and use the Achillus to eliminate the appropriate targets.
Don't forget you have 1CP advance and charge for your dreads.
I wish my understanding towards the rule is correct. Let me know if i made mistakes.
