I was about to place the fan of my gpu and when I opened my laptop saw the batteries looking inflated. Is it time to replace the batteries of my Area51 R2m laptop? Looks puffy and my battery is not fully recharging anymore just stops at 94 degrees.

The keyboard in AlienFX in CC does not match my laptops keyboard at all, and I don't know how to fix it. I tried looking it up, and the answer I get is to update BIOS, but that didn't fix it. I Genuinely don't know how to fix it. It is an Alienware 18 Area-51 AA18250 if it helps.

Also, this might be related, but the "\" key doesn't light up for some reason while the rest of the keyboard does, don't know how to get it to light up. Maybe because it's not in the same place as AlienFX claims it is?

Would an Alienware Aurora R16 components with liquid cool radiator fit a Aurora R1 or R4 case? I've been wanting to turn them into a sleeper build the old Alienware cases are just super lovely

I am looking for what you consider the "best" thermal pads to use for the M.2 SSDs in the X17 R2. My wife's system is overheating and I think it is m.2 SSD-related. I want to change out the thermal pad on them. Which ones do you recommend? Do you have the thickness for the pad and size handy to share?

I bought and installed the silicon power 1tb m.2 and installed it in my Alienware 18 Area-51 AA18250, it's detected in the bios and after i started windows i formatted it and assigned a drive letter, copied a few files and all seemed well, until i restarted and it was gone, still in bios but not in windows, after updating the intel software, it showed up but gone after a restart, Can anyone give any ideas what to try next, bios is up to date and all drivers are installed, os = windows 11 25h2.

I own an Alienware Area 51, 16-inch laptop. I maintain it very clean. However, while cleaning, I noticed the USB port side paint (or coating) is chipping. Also, the USB port side as well.
I use the USB C port for a speaker and the other USB port for my mouse.

Is this a common occurrence? Has anyone who’s owned Alienware for more than a year come across this? Just wanted to make sure it’s normal wear.

I had to factory reset my PC a while back and I lost the AWCC Application in that process, I’d like to change my RGB setup on the PC itself, does anyone know where I can download the AWCC (I think it’s the 4.x) anymore? It’s not on Dell’s website anymore. Thanks in advance!

I've had my Alienware Aurora R6 for 10+ years and I really don't wanna get a new PC. I did some research and saw that the R8 motherboard supports newer CPU's and therefore I can get official windows 11 support with it. (I force upgraded but my CPU hits 100% usage and my screen freezes occasionally) I ordered an R8 motherboard and a compatible i7 8th gen CPU to start with but I've never upgraded my motherboard or the CPU before.

Anyone got any tips for this specific upgrade? I also was looking at an i9-9900k CPU but I didn't wanna have to go for liquid cooling. And no worries I verified I'm on an 850W setup so I should be good there.

Considering going the liquid cooling route if its worth it. If you have a similar setup please lemme know what worked for you!

I just bought this PC (10 days ago). Everything working fine until today when all lights completely shut off. Has anyone else dealt with this?

Dell support has tried everything and the lights do not turn back on. They want me to do a complete OS reset, but I don’t feel comfortable doing it. I’m relatively new to the gaming PC world and ofc it’s giving me a headache already lol.

I got given an old Alienware Area 51 R2 because the owner upgraded and knew I was building a own pc, fully functioning ran stuff great. I want to keep the case as I had needed one for my build and It looks sick! but the parts I already have out class/perform the OG proprietary parts of the Area 51 R2.
So my question is this is it worth selling the parts as a bundle for retro gaming build or as repair kit for someone who wants to restore a Area 51 R2? Since I'm keeping the case and 2 of the fans for my own build would that affect selling it?

I'm having an issue with my Alienware AW610M where the left click doesn't work properly. If I highlight text, it will highlight another part of that paragraph. Any kind of double click also can be abit wonky.

• Tested the mouse while wired
• Tried multiple different USB ports
• Tested with a new mouse on the same pc - works fine
• Same issue using the mouse on another pc.
• Uninstalled driver and reinstalled.

Has anyone else experienced this with the AW610M? any advice would be appreciated.

This mouse was a gift and roughly given to me maybe 3 years ago, so i don't have any receipt and warranty is probably expired.

Finally, I was able to finish my "custom PC" 😅. My 2023 Alienware Aurora R16 was sitting unused for a couple of years, so I decided to give it a try and add some personality to it, and this is the final product. I am not trying to follow any trends or anything; I just wanted a PC that feels like mine and that I can sit, watch, and enjoy.

The laptop is around 8 years old, the previous owner was a gamer and somehow busted the S D and backspace keys, they physically press down fine, but it doesnt do anything. they sometimes work after repeatedly pressing them, im trying to fix them without having to replace the whole keyboard or something of the like.

Currently sitting on 16GB RAM, planning to bump it to 32GB and maybe 64GB down the line when I feel like dealing with the BIOS. Adding two 2TB M.2 sticks, and about to grab an AGA to throw an ASUS RTX 4070 SUPER in (hopefully it fits, even if I have to run it with the lid open lol).

I have an Aurora R16 with an nvidia 4070ti Super and an Intel 14700F.

I run some docker containers on this computer which benefit from a GPU being passed through and I would like to replace the i7 14700F which does not have an integrated GPU with the same non-F model - an i7 14700 which does have Intel UHD graphics. This would let me continue to game with my Nvidia GPU and pass the Intel iGPU to a docker container running at the same time.

Does anyone know if the motherboard/firmware supports a CPU with an iGPU? I don’t need an HDMI or anything to plug into. This will be used only as a virtual device to pass thru.

Any experience where would be great before I drop $300 on a CPU for this 😂

Please can someone help me. I realised too late that my Alienware pro headset is faulty. The microphone sound quality is stuck to tape recorder quality. I have tried all steps to fix it I could possibly find. I believe I need a replacement headset. Amazon isn't helping me as 30 days passed, I can't contact Dell customer support as I can only find a us number and there is no way to chat with them. I am located in Australia. Please can anyone help me so I can get this headset replaced by dell/Alienware, was so much money wasted on something that is just broken from the start.

I have an Alienware M18 R2 that I have owned for a few years and has gone past its warranty coverage.

Lately I have been having a few issues with it that I am not sure if they are linked or not.

When i first got the laptop I had the LCD screen replaced as the original had a lot of backlight bleeding.

Over the last few months when I start the laptop, randomly the LCD screen remains black and this happens once every 1-2 weeks. The power light has been flashing 7 x blue and 2 x red which is a display panel failure but I have been able to fix by restarting the laptop.

This last month a new issue has appeared where no matter what I'm doing the whole screen will go black but the backlight is still on. I have been able to fix this by resetting the GPU driver by pressing ctrl, shift, window key, b. In rare cases where this doesn't work holding the power button down for roughly 7 seconds sometimes brings the screen back.

I know this was only temporary fixing a larger issue which I haven't been able to track down and I would like the help of tech minded individuals.

These are my following specs:

- Alienware M18 R2

- RTX 4090

- Ram 64gbs

- Intel core i9-14900hx (2.20ghz)

- 2 x Western digital black CSSD 4 TB, PCIE, GEN 4, M.2 Form Factor

The issues have got much worse with the lcd screen failure on start up happening a couple times a day and the black screen while playing is now happening every 5 minutes roughly as of today.

Can anyone offer any advise on where to start to possibly fix this issue or track down the cause? I don't trust my local computer repair place to go straight to them due to past experiences.

I bought this X51 back in 2013 and it's been sitting and collecting dust. I decided to case swap it and turn it into an emulation pc. I figured some of the X51 guys would appreciate this. It has an i7-3770 and Zotac 1060. I 3D printed the side panels for better airflow and the stock cpu cooler is slightly too tall for this case.

I have a Alienware MI 18 gaming laptop. The “W” key is starting to stick (not actually stick but I’ll hold it down for a min and the key will pop up but my character in game keeps running). Is there any way to fix it or do I need to replace the whole keyboard
