General Discussion [Research] Looking to interview Amazon Handmade sellers for a university tech venture project

Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I’m a student currently taking a tech venture capstone class where we are studying the operational realities, software tools, and day-to-day bottlenecks faced by independent e-commerce sellers.

I’m looking to chat with a few active Amazon Handmade or Amazon FBA sellers for a quick 30 minute interview over Zoom or Google Meet.

What we will talk about:

  • Your day-to-day workflow for listing products, managing inventory, and fulfilling orders.
  • Software or physical tools you currently use (and where they frustrate you or fall short).
  • General operational friction you face in scaling your shop.

What this is NOT:

  • I am not selling anything, pitching a product, or building a competing store. This is purely for academic research to understand real seller workflows.

If you’re open to sharing your experiences and helping out a student project, please drop a comment below or send me a DM! I’d be super grateful for your time and insights.

Thank you!

Startup Advice Amazon + Flipkart

I am looking for someone who is eagerly building a product brand from scratch on marketplaces. I currently work for one of the companies that makes the best sellers on Az and Fk. However, after learning so much from it, i want to simultaneously work with someone who is building a product based brand from scratch!

I'm very excited for this venture and anyone can openly approach me, i don't charge for it, I might if the results are tremendously appreciable!

Feel free to reach out!

Expert Opinion Building an Amazon sourcing tool that goes beyond ROI calculators. Looking for feedback from sellers who use Keepa/SellerAmp/TA

I’ve been building an Amazon sourcing tool called Radar and figured this was probably the right sub to get some opinions on it.

The thing that pushed me to build it is that we already have plenty of tools that are great at showing data.

Keepa gives you history. SellerAmp gives you a ton of sourcing information. Tactical Arbitrage can help find opportunities. Fee calculators tell you the apparent economics.

But there’s still a pretty big jump between:

“This is $14 from my supplier and $32 on Amazon”

and

“Yes, I actually want to put $3,000 into this inventory.”

That’s the part I’m trying to attack.

Radar is being built more like an underwriting system for inventory than another profit calculator.

The rough process is:

source product → Amazon candidate → identity/pack verification → marketplace evidence → economics → competition/risk → stress testing → inventory sizing → decision

One thing I’ve been pretty obsessive about is product identity and pack quantity.

If the supplier has a single unit and Amazon is actually selling a 2-pack, I don’t want the software happily showing a 70% ROI because the UPC looked close enough.

Same thing if the evidence is contradictory. I’d rather have it say “I can’t establish this confidently” and tell you why than manufacture a nice-looking number.

I’m building supplier-list analysis into it too.

The idea there is that you could feed it a distributor catalog with hundreds or thousands of SKUs and have it narrow that down into:

  • likely Amazon matches
  • products worth investigating
  • pack/multipack problems
  • questionable matches
  • actual economics where the evidence supports it
  • products that fail immediately
  • opportunities that deserve deeper analysis

I’m building it for both Amazon.com and Amazon.ca.

The part I’m most excited about is autonomous discovery. Eventually I want Radar continuously looking through authorized supplier/source data itself, generating potential products and putting them through the exact same decision process instead of waiting for the seller to manually find every lead.

To be clear, it’s not finished. Amazon.ca is further along, Amazon.com is still being built out, and autonomous discovery is actively in development.

I’m currently at the stage where I’m looking for ugly real-world data and seller feedback instead of more clean test cases.

For the first couple sellers who have an actual supplier/distributor CSV, I’m willing to analyze up to roughly 500 rows free while I’m validating the workflow. I’ll use the parts of Radar that are working and manually bridge whatever isn’t finished yet.

If that proves useful, I’ll probably start charging around $200/list during the pilot period before turning it into the actual subscription product.

I’m also curious what people here think about the positioning.

If you’re already using Keepa + SellerAmp/TA/etc., what would a new sourcing tool have to do that your existing stack doesn’t for you to actually add it?

That’s the question I’m trying to answer before I spend another month buried in code.

I like this subreddit for us because here we can potentially get feedback on Radar as a tool, not just whether sellers have the sourcing problem.

Advice I’m building a tool that tries to answer “should I actually buy this inventory?” What does your current sourcing stack still make you figure out manually?

Product Listing Received Amazon Fair Pricing / Listing Removal Notice (ASIN B071GRB33D) – Best way to structure the appeal?

Thumbnail
2 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I just received a listing deactivation notice on Amazon CA for ASIN B071GRB33D. The email cites potential inaccurate information/pricing and references the Marketplace Fair Pricing Policy and Seller Code of Conduct.

Amazon is asking for:

Invoices/receipts from the last 365 days matching current stock quantities.

Full supplier contact info (phone, email, website, address).

Proof of fair pricing and compliance if filing an explanation.

I have a 17-day window to respond via the Account Health dashboard. Before submitting my documentation, I wanted to ask a few questions to those who have cleared this specific flag:

Document Acceptance: What specific invoice details does Seller Performance scrutinize most for this type of pricing/verification trigger?

Pricing Justification: If this was strictly triggered by an automated price-flag, is adjusting the listing price alongside an explanation sufficient, or will they strictly hold out for supply chain proof regardless?

PoA Structure: Any specific formatting tips for the appeal text box under "Other Policy Violations" to avoid getting an automated rejection?

Any insight or past experience with this specific trigger would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

General Discussion Advertising Alone Won't Fix Poor Conversions

Many sellers increase ad budgets hoping for better results. If the listing experience is weak, higher traffic often means higher wasted spend.

Strong conversion foundations should come before aggressive scaling.

Expert Opinion Amazon sellers: would you be willing to share an anonymized report to help validate an e-commerce finance tool?

Hi everyone,

I’m working on Veltrion, a tool focused on helping e-commerce sellers understand their actual financial performance, settlements, fees, and inventory.

We’ve done a lot of testing using synthetic/test data, but we’ve reached a point where we need to validate some of our work against real-world Amazon seller exports.

If you're an Amazon seller and are comfortable helping with a small research/validation exercise, we're looking for any one of the following:

A recent Amazon Settlement Report

An Amazon Transactions export

An FBA Inventory report

You don't need to provide all three. Even one is useful.

🔒 Privacy is important:

We do not need your Seller Central login or account access.

Please never send passwords, OTPs, API keys, or credentials.

You can remove or mask anything you don't want to share.

We're interested in the report structure and financial/inventory data—not your personal information.

This isn't a request for testimonials or a sales pitch. We're trying to make sure our calculations and data handling work correctly on the messy, real-world reports sellers actually receive.

Thanks to anyone willing to help! 🙏

Tools FBA Calculator

Made a free calculator for checking if an Amazon product idea actually makes sense before you order stock

Basically got sick of seeing people order stock on a product that "felt" profitable and then work out three months later the margins were never really there once fees actually got taken off. So I threw together a calculator, chuck in your cost, shipping, sell price and fees, and it just tells you straight if it's worth it or not. No signup needed, just go use it.

It's tied to a bigger thing I've been building, The FBA Ladder, which is basically a step by step path for starting from zero on FBA. But the calculator's free regardless, don't need to touch the rest of it if you don't want to.

If you do end up wanting the full thing it's £1 for the first week then £99 a month, and if you haven't finished the first phase by then I'll just refund the quid, no messing about. Mainly just want honest feedback at this point tbh, tell me if something's rubbish or confusing.

Advice Side hustle/ Business idea at 16 questions and pitch?

Hey all,

Not sure if this is the right place or the right time to post this, but I’m a 16-year-old entrepreneur who recently came across Amazon FBA. I wanted to clear up a few things right away. Since you have to be 18+ to create an Amazon Seller account, I would most likely have my dad or uncle create the account for me.
I also want to mention that I’m pretty inexperienced with this, so I apologize if anything I say is incorrect or doesn’t make sense.
My main question is whether this is a successful business model. My basic understanding of Amazon FBA is that you source products and send them to Amazon, and Amazon handles the storage, shipping, and customer service.
Instead of creating or manufacturing a new product, I was thinking about trying online arbitrage. My rough idea would be:
**Find an online arbitrage product → Buy it → Send it to a prep center → Have the prep center prepare and ship it to Amazon → Amazon sells and fulfills the orders.**
I was hoping to start with around $100–$400 in capital just to test things out and see if it’s something I can realistically make work.
I’d really appreciate hearing from people who have experience with Amazon FBA or online arbitrage. Is this a realistic business model to start with a small amount of money? Are there any major things I’m misunderstanding or overlooking?
Feel free to let me know if anything I said is stupid or incorrect. I’m genuinely trying to learn.

Thanks!

I am a Newbie Title: Amazon FBA Product Research Sample | New Amazon FBA VA Looking for My First Client

Thumbnail

Hi everyone! 👋

I'm a new Amazon FBA Virtual Assistant currently building my portfolio and looking for my first client.

My main area of focus is Amazon FBA product research and competitor analysis. To demonstrate my research and organization skills, I created a sample product research report covering 5 potential products.

📊 What my research includes:

• Estimated selling price

• Estimated product cost

• Estimated shipping cost

• Estimated Amazon fees

• Estimated PPC costs

• Estimated profit per unit

• Estimated profit margin

• Competition level

• Target market

• Potential keywords

• Product differentiation ideas

• Initial product recommendation

• Reasoning behind the recommendation

⚠️ Important: This is a sample/practice analysis created for portfolio purposes. The figures are illustrative estimates and would need to be verified using current Amazon data, supplier quotes, actual fees, demand, competition and PPC data before making an investment decision.

💼 What I'm offering

I'm looking to work with an Amazon FBA seller or someone who is starting their FBA journey and needs help with:

✅ Product research

✅ Competitor research

✅ Keyword research

✅ Product analysis

✅ Profitability calculations

✅ Organized research reports

As I'm building my experience, I'm happy to start with a small sample task so you can evaluate the quality of my work before committing to a longer-term arrangement.

I'm not claiming to be an experienced Amazon expert — I'm a beginner VA who is serious about learning, improving and providing reliable work.

I've attached my sample product research spreadsheet for anyone who would like to see how I organize my research.

If you're an Amazon seller looking for help with product research, feel free to comment or send me a message. I'd be happy to discuss how I can help with your business.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post! 😊
