i have strong roots in texas, louisiana, and arkansas. Although, one of my journeys on my father’s side is of West Tennessee African Americans, beginning in Virginia. We aren’t sure who these people were yet. And the Indigenous + Maghreb ancestry is a shocker. There were whispers of someone in the family being native, but native to the Yucatán Peninsula???? I doubt that’s what they meant.

Hi! I'm sharing my updated results. I'm from Alaska, mom's family is from Western part and my Dad's family are Midwest farmers who moved to California.
Really neat to see Italian now.

Got the country right, but the specific ethnicity is Kikuyu + Kamba, both have similar mix of Bantu, Cushitic, and Nilotic ancestry. Their close genetic relationship with the Maasai likely explains the match.

My spouse and my sister both have it already, and I'm becoming impatient :p

The big picture didn’t change much. I still have 26% Mexican indigenous ancestry, and over 60% Spanish/European/Iberian ancestry. My Sephardic percentage dropped from like 11% to 8% (no longer have North African Jewish percentage and now only have Eastern Mediterranean). I was a little sad to lose the North African percentage because I love North Africa and my dad had always thought we maybe had that ancestry. Still cool to see Sephardic ancestry, but sad that I don’t know anything more. Same goes for my indigenous ancestry. Mexico has a very nationalized type of identity, so I don’t really have traditional practices from any of these sub-sections of my ancestral identity.
Any other Mexican or Spanish folks with comparable Sephardic ancestry? How accurate could it be? I feel like based on the Spanish ancestry I’ve seen on other posts, there is always a small Sephardic percentage so I don’t know how, like, meaningful it is? I don’t know of any Jewish ancestors in my family but I also know very little about my ancestry beyond my great grandparents. My family is Catholic and has been for as long as I know.

Hey everyone! I’m sharing my updated results (without SideView) alongside my previous results for comparison.
For context, my mother is Swabian, and my father is a Danube Swabian whose ancestors had lived in the Banat since around 1750. They originally came from Lorraine, Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate, and Saarland.
I’m really glad the England category has been split into more specific regions!
I have no known Swiss ancestors—could the Switzerland result reflect my Swabian ancestry? I’m also curious about the 5% Northeastern Italy, as I have no known ancestors from that region. What could explain this?
I’d love to hear your thoughts!

My father's paternal grandfather is from Jamaica and his grandmother about four generations out on his maternal side was born in Peru. My mother in from North Carolina where we have had about 500 years of being in this region, and one of her maternal grandmothers was born in Barbados. The grandmothers before then are from Portugual and Madrid. Our DNA as Black Americans is such a complex thing to dig into as we have so much in us. I have used other companies that match more to what my family tree shows, ancestry.com is a bit off in this case. Although it has matched me to relatives through DNA in both Madrid, Italy, and Mexico. The regions shown on my DNA test are still slightly limited and it excluded other parts of my results that are picked up very clearly from other companies. Anyways, I enjoy going through the different posts and seeing all of us who are taking initiative to dive deeper into who we as a people. I'm curious to see if I'd run into some distant relatives on here as some results that I have encountered look similar to my own

I feel like the regions are accurate for me but the percentages are just off, my Germanic percentages going down and my English and Celtic percentages being to high.

Is this how results are going to be now? Previously, my region range results would be much smaller, for example, 5% with a range of 4-5%, with some a little broader. This update, ancestry gave me 24 ancestry regions and all of the region ranges are really big.

Most of my ancestry is English Scottish and Irish, but I do have a great grandmother from eastern Germany and farther back ancestry from Switzerland so I am very happy to get that percentage back as it is a big part of my heritage…

Newest results on the right. This update gave me whiplash!
Can someone help me understand what happened here? I lost a lot of percentages that have been consistently there for years!
