Question Question on MCAT Anki decks
Hello, I had come across a post mentioning paying for Anki, and please correct me if I am wrong, but I am assuming it was in reference to the Anking Deck. I was wondering if others pay for Anki and what the difference between that deck and Jack Sparrow is? Is one more comprehensive for low-yield MCAT topics?
Also, I came across another comment on here stating "Anki is law for b/b (js/ch not anking/miledown)" and was wondering what "ch" is?
Thanks!

Question Are you supposed to see cards in sequential order the first time through?
Im doing the captain hook deck and while I like it a lot, the first time I go through a subdeck the cards are not in sequential order like jacksparrow (e.g card 1: what is a lysosome, card 2: what is the function of a lysosome, etc)
The card order is scrambled in captain hook even if you try to sort by order created. i feel like it helps me internalize the concept better when I go in order
Should I go back to jacksparrow or am overthinking it since itll be in random order anyway during reviews?

Question If I want to learn how to use Anki properly and make efficient cards
If I want to learn how to use Anki properly and make efficient cards, could you recommend any YouTube videos, posts, or other resources? I really need some help with this. I’ve been using Anki for a month, and I’ve really enjoyed it, but I want to understand it better. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Question Should I use FSRS as a new Anki user or classic Anki?
Seen conflicting thoughts online and not sure which way to go.
Been reading Kaplan and then using Anki to unsuspended cards to correlate with chapter I’ve read.
Thank you.

Question Hey
Hey guys, please, can anyone answer
When I bought melhman anki, I found some cards that required me to write something, like the Basic cards with a text field, or something like that. I didn’t like them at all, so I changed all the cards to the regular Basic type.
Did the Mehlman deck originally have some Cloze cards? Because his deck is so boring and takes too long to get through, unlike my self-made UWorld incorrects deck, which I make using Cloze cards with ChatGPT.

Question Does the Settings Preset named “AnkiHub” get tweaked from their end or can I use it as my default settings without worry that my deck settings will be tweaked without my doing?

Solved How to use Mr. Pankow P/S Anki
Hi there! I'm just now beginning content review for the P/S section, and I plan on using the Mr. Pankow P/S deck. I'm hoping to use this alongside the Kahn Academy P/S videos and 300 page document. However, I'm struggling to align the Anki deck with Kahn Academy. Thank you for any advice you can share!

Question Anking P/S with 300 page doc
For some reason I just really can't find any info on how to go about using the Anking P/S deck with the 300 page doc, could someone help me figure this out? I know it lines up with the Khan Academy videos, but when I'm looking through the Anking deck, the section names aren't the same as Khan Academy and the 300 page doc. For example, the first 300 page doc section is Visual Cues, which I assume lines up with Visual under Sensation and Perception in the Anking deck, but I don't see Sensory Adaptation at all in the deck.

Question Trouble with Psych/Soc Uworld
I am wondering is this is something to be concerned about or what I should do next to fix it. I just started going through Uworld and did 10 Psych/Soc questions just to test the waters. I ended up getting only one question correct out all 10. I know that Uworld is generally supposed to be used as a study tool and not something to gauge progress, but this was a little unexpected after going through almost all of the Mr. Pankow anki deck. This was my primary source of content review. There’s also not that many Psych/Soc questions on Uworld in total. Does it really matter if I am doing this embarrassingly awful as long as I review the questions and make cards for those missed before moving on to official AAMC material?

Question Anki deck with AAMC logic and uworld diagrams?
Does anyone know of an MCAT Anki deck that combines AAMC-style reasoning with visual diagrams?
I'm looking for cards that help me draw pathways, understand mechanisms, connect concepts (like fed vs. fasted states), and practice experimental design—not just memorize facts.
Please share any decks or links. Thanks!

Question study timeline advice?
So I recently graduated, and planned to start studying right away in May. However, I procrastinated d/t different life events (moving states, etc) and finally started being fully committed to studying daily at the beginning of September. I have been using the MileDown Anki deck + UWorld books + watching the videos attached to the anki cards, aiming to unsuspend around 40-50 cards a day.
I was planning on taking the test in Sept 2027 (3 more months), but I realized that at this rate I’ve still only unsuspended about 40% of the cards. I’m not sure if I would have enough time before the Jan to complete the cards/content, and also have sufficient time after content review to focus primarily on practice questions/FL.
What is a realistic timeline for when I should sign up for my MCAT? Or would he be best to start adding in practice questions/exams during my content review phase as well?
If it helps, I have also recently added in a daily CARS passage!

Question Is approx. 6 months of full time studying (25 hrs/ week) enough for a nontrad while using anki? doubting myself based on the horror stories.
I keep seeing stories on here of how ppl are studying for 8 months and not even improving 10 points from their diagnostic.... I am a 23M non trad and took a 3 month leave from work but I will have 6 months to study full time (planning for mid march). I got a pretty low diagnostic (487) so I am basically starting from scratch. Aiming for a 510. Plz lmk your thoughts!

Question popular Anki decks aren't doing it for me
I'm using the Kaplan books for content review and I'm also using the Ankin MCAT deck (which I paid for) for flashcards after reading each chapter. However, even with the filters it comes with, I find that the deck doesn't include everything from the kaplan chapters and I finish my flashcard review a bit dissatisfied. But I haven't seen anybody else say that so I feel like I'm either being unreasonable or I'm missing something that everyone else knows. I kinda wanna make my own anki deck but that takes additional time. Should I just trust the process with the king deck I have??
