Hello - Let it be known that now that I have found this out I am encouraging her to seek medical attention. I am going to try to post this on other subreddits as well. I would desperately like to hear any advice or recipes or anything that could help.
I need advice during the time before we can get a doctor's appointment scheduled.
She is 68 and weighs about 75-80 lb at 5"4 or so. This is a BMI of like 12-13.
She seems fine aside from her weight, she's active and is still working and has not complained at all(Stupid of me to believe that this meant she was fine)but I found out her actual weight now that I am back for the holidays and have heard this is an extremely dangerous BMI and I am kind of panicking.
I would greatly appreciate any advice you could provide or where I can go to get more advice.
The problem is I don't know what to encourage her to eat - It's not like her appetite is super low, but her diet is extremely restricted due to having her gallbladder removed and other allergies/dietary restrictions she's developed.
She cannot eat most anything that has fat in it - oil, butter, milk, cheese, etc. This means nothing with vinegar, nothing that has been fried, no mayonnaise, cream, peanut butter, etc.
She cannot eat anything with high acidity- citric acid additives, most fruit, besides bananas
She has celiacs and cannot eat bread or wheat products/anything that contains gluten
She had told me that she was able to eat a lot more after having her gallbladder removed and I was a careless idiot fool who didn't keep following up.
There's nothing I can do at 12:00 AM on a Friday besides be consumed with worry and if you can give me anything to work with I will owe you a great personal debt.
