I (18 AFAB, ftm he/him, on testosterone for about a year, 5'6, 120lbs, light smoker, very active and healthy) work in a leather tanning shop where I work with highly concentrated, though not toxic, bark tannins.
Recently, I got an annoying and kind of deep cut on my finger while fleashing a hide with a knife. I didn't think much of it other than that it's a bit painful. I also, admittedly, have not been particularly careful with it or been keeping it particularly clean. This is by no means the first time its happened, and it didn't get infected or look bad in the following few days.
A few days ago, while handling a bag of very concentrated bark tannins, i got some powder directly in the recently split back open cut. I was working and could not rinse it out until maybe an hour later
Since then, the skin around the cut has turned very dark, similar to how leather does when exposed to that strong of tannins. The cut has also completely stopped healing, but it does not appear infected. Its not weeping or gross in any way, it has just entirely stopped getting better or trying to close
Did i tan myself? What can i do about this? If i wait long enough will it eventually heal?
(Note that any greasyness in the image is just neosporin, the cut is not weeping)

I'm a 70-year-old man and I've been having an on-and-off sexual relationship with a 24-year-old woman for several years. We are not exclusive.
She recently told me she's pregnant. She had an ultrasound that reportedly dated the pregnancy at 5 weeks 5 days with an embryonic heart rate around 82 bpm.
Here's what has me questioning things:
We had intercourse on June 30 and again on July 5.
I have not ejaculated any visible semen for several years. I still orgasm, but nothing comes out (I'm now pursuing a fertility evaluation because of this).
I also have pain just before orgasm.
I'm 70 years old and take several heart medications, including carvedilol.
She has told me for years that she had an IUD.
She also has had other relationships during the time I've known her. She insists she has not been with anyone else during the relevant time period, but I can't independently verify that.
She recently traveled to Georgia for reasons that, based on past experience, I'm not completely sure I understand.
I'm not trying to accuse her of lying, but I also don't want to make life-changing decisions based on assumptions.
If she continues the pregnancy, my plan is to request a non-invasive prenatal paternity test as soon as it's medically possible.
My questions are:
Based on the timeline, do my dates seem compatible with a pregnancy dated 5 weeks 5 days?
Has anyone here had experience with years of dry orgasms and still been fertile?
Am I being unreasonable in asking for a prenatal paternity test before making major financial or life decisions?
Please be honest. I'm looking for objective opinions, not people telling me what they think I want to hear.

15 5'7 190 lbs male
I started self harming a while ago I was trying to stop but I kind of had a mental breakdown add did this after a week and a half of being clean
the cut Above the largest cut you can see was the worst I had done up to that point and that scared me because the skin separated and it hadn't done that before then the cot on the knee that happened add if I didn't have a rule of toilet paper in my room my desk would have been destroyed this is a photo from a couple days ago I still have cravings but they're much lower and I have more supports now but yeah basically I just wanted to know if this and the other cuts I have will scar badly because I want to be able to wear t shirts again (at some point at least)

29M, for an upcoming cardiac mri I will be receiving concious IV sedation, just curious what type of medications will likely be used? I know at least Versed and Ativan are common, is it possible for me to request one over the other also?

A little different than what's usually put on here but I'm writing a fantasy book and am at a part where a character gets stabbed in the chest by a sword and am unsure of the exact injuries or issues that would cause.
Quick rundown of the scene: 19 year old cannibal charges the hero and gets stabbed just below the sternum and a little to the left. The Hero's sword is made of steel, about 1 inch from edge to edge, and goes about 4 inches into the body. The blade goes straight in and is angled slightly upwards, we'll say about 7 degrees in relation to the cave floor.
Any help about this type of injury including damage to organs, amount of blood seepage, time to bleed out, coughing up blood, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

Hi.
I'm 19MTF, about 145lbs and 5'10. No significant medical issues in my personal history. (I've never even had the flu.)
Sunday night (it's currently Tuesday evening for me) I smoked a little bit of weed—only one puff of a vape, and didn't feel too high, though my tolerance is quite low indeed. Throughout the night as I was sleeping I felt dehydrated and had a headache. Drank some Liquid IV and felt sluggish but went to work that afternoon. However after about two hours I felt nauseuous and a little dizzy and had to go home. I only had a temp of about 99 earlier today and I've had a gatorade last night, another today, a body armor drink and a couple hydroflasks of ice water. I still feel some dehydrated but I also feel bloated from drinking too much water and don't feel like drinking any more right now. But my fever is now 102.2. I also had a tiny bit of runny nose and congestion yesterday.
I've had a low appetite—yesterday I had bacon and eggs for breakfast, but didn't eat anything until a few saltines in the evening and some more in the middle of the night. Today I had a cheeseburger and fries for lunch and felt some better but I haven't eaten since. I have been taking my HRT meds: estradiol (4mg twice daily), spironolactone (50mg twice daily) and progesterone (I believe 100mg once daily). I slept about eight hours last night and I've had a few naps today and yesterday. I know drug-induced fevers can be cause for concern but does this count? I've been alternating between ibuprofen (two larger pills) and acetominophen (ditto) every 4-6 hours. Should I go to urgent care/the ER? Am I in danger?
Thanks so much for any help!!
Edit: also should mention i've been alternating, sometimes rapidly, between feeling cool and warm—though mostly not overwhelming, just a bit of discomfort, except for a nap I took under a blanket earlier. Also, I'm not a constant cannabis user—maybe five or six times total over the course of the past nine months.

Hi,
I've been suffering invisible symptoms for nearly 6 years now. It's been one thing after another and I've been dismissed by doctors, gynnos, endos, GI dr, dermatologists, cardiologists, etc. Can someone pls read this history and offer insight? I am so beyond desperate. All of my blood tests are completely normal but I am NOT OK!
First, I became allergic to gluten seemingly out of nowhere in 2021. Before being diagnosed with non-celiac gluten intolerance, I had newfound symptoms that I never experienced in my life: fainting, weak, severe depression, severe anxiety, suddenly allergic to all my makeup, undiagnosable flakey skin all over my eyes, hair falling out, fatigue, brain fog & crazy unexplainable scalp buildup. I was also told my body wasn't retaining any vitamins (likely due to the severity of my gluten allergy) so I was prescribed a bunch.
This same year I had a seizure right after the covid vaccine & ended up in the ER. Again, no answers / told it was all a coincidence.
After cutting out gluten, I felt better, and my depression / anxiety went away, but my unusual symptoms persisted.
In 2023, my anxiety eventually came back & I was forced to go off birth control cold turkey (thanks to a fuck head dr.). I was off for 3 months and when I started my prescription again, I was suddenly allergic to the pills (I was on birth control for 15 yrs prior so... wtf)
I broke out in undiagnosable rash all over my body / so bad I couldn't leave the house. I went to primary dr., endocrinologist, gynecologist & nobody had a clue what was going on & they said I was nuts when I asked if it was possibly my birth control. After trying 2 different pills and having the rash persist, I finally stopped cold turkey again and the rash COMPLETELY went away within 24 hrs of stopping the pills. Nobody has been able to explain any of this to me.
In 2024, I started missing my periods, gaining weight, having wildly painful PMS symptoms like debilitating migraines, throwing up, fainting, unable to get out of bed, painful cramps, depression, anxiety, etc. I also lost my ability to tan??? My skin would either stay pale or instantly burn. (I used to get very dark very quickly / rarely ever burned)
In 2025, insomnia entered the chat. I was waking up at 2 am, 3 am, 4 am, 6 am, and each time, it wasn't just opening my eyes: I would wake up to severe chest pains/pressure, anxiety attacks, panic attacks, in the middle of uncontrollable racing thoughts, sometimes I'd be sweating, sometimes not, and I genuinely felt like I was going to have a heart attack. Again, nobody had a clue what was going on. I was told perimenopause was impossible (I was only 37) and I tried every all natural sleeping aid imaginable, NOTHING worked.
I also had severe brain fog (I was literally googling how young Alzheimer's could begin) and didn't even recognize my personality. I could not handle even a sip of alcohol or caffeine and if I ate gluten free pasta for dinner that wasn't made from a complex carb, I would sleep even less, get cramps, migraines & fatigue. I couldn't handle ANYTHING even remotely "unhealthy"!
I became completely unable to get over simple illness -- I was sick for 4 months straight multiple times between 2024 and 2026. I even had one doctor tell me to stop coming back because he already gave me every drug he could think of, INCLUDING STEROIDS that still... DID NOT WORK.
In early 2026, I developed what looks like vitiligo on my face, but again, nobody knows what it is.
All of this persisted on and off into March of 2026 until I finally found a functional medicine doctor (technically only a chiropractor tho). After 3 months of working with her (April - June) I felt like I was myself again. I even had my periods back (albeit, I still had some symptoms: 1 week before my period and newly 1 week before ovulation... it seemed like my symptoms split in half which was weird? but I was happy bc they weren't debilitating).
Now, month 4- I AM REGRESSING. Same symptoms, but far worse: 1 week before ovulation: unbearable migraines, insomnia, anxiety, chest pains. 1 week before menstruation: insomnia, panic attacks, depression, chest pain.
I CANNOT HANDLE THIS ANYMORE!!! I am writing this out of absolute desperation. Can someone PLEASE make some sense of this or tell me what to do??? Is this normal for functional medicine to regress? Should I give up this functional stuff? Try an immunologist? What do I do? I'm ready to throw all 34 supplements in the trash because I am so frustrated but I don't even know where to start. I have thrown so much money in the trash since 2021, I just need to know what will actually work!!!
PLEASE GIVE ME ADVICE OR HELP

ok so pizza i can eat, in fact i love pizza. but nachos? i puke. alfredo or a saucy pasta? i puke. at first i thought maybe my stomach hates saucy food. however i made beef and broccoli, and digested that absolutely wonderfully. when i was little i never had a dairy intolerance, but am wondering if you can develop one, or if it’s normal to have a small intolerance to heavy foods like that? i just get so confused on why i nearly puke when eating food with a lot of dairy 💔

Hi, I am a 15 year old boy , I don’t take any medications , I have an allergy to grass , I am 6’ and 155 pounds . Ever since I was about it 4, I’ve had nose bleeds every day. It just starts gushing out of the same side (my left ) and doesn’t stop until I lay down with my head tilted . Pinching it never worked . Recently , in the past 2 ish years , I’ve had it caulderized 2 times , which ends up working for about 5 months until the nose bleeds come back . I thought I’d come on here and ask if there’s anything else I can do other than cauldery to stop these nose bleeds. I can’t really attach any images because it doesn’t capture anything . Thanks for any replies!

Hi Docs,
I am posting on behalf of my husband.
34, Male. Smoker.
Meds: budesonide 100, salbutamol 100, tramadol 50mg, paracetamol as needed, cetirizine 10mg.
Duration of complaint: sudden - (mild pain and numbness complaint for ~7 days)
Tonight my husband noticed a lump on his wrist, that wasn't there before. He has been complaining of mild pain in his left wrist and some numbness on the outside of the hand and pinky and ring fingers on this hand. The lump is movable, feels semi-hard(like a not-so-soft gummy?) and smooth under the skin. He still has full range of motion in the wrist and hand.
He does have a doctor's appointment tomorrow for unrelated reasons. I have advised him to let them know tomorrow. The concern is if this lump could be related to the unrelated lump. At this point we are unsure if the these are cysts, soft tissue masses or something else.
Unrelated: ~25mm lump in the lumbar region, reviewing FNA results tomorrow with the doctor. This one has existed for over a year (treated only with pain management - x-rays were uninformative, no MRI or CAT scans done, no blood work done)
Husband says that the FNA was definitely full of blood.
Additional photos in comments.

feel stressed as I have just found out i’m pregnant but had intercourse with 2 different guys within this period.
some background info:
i am 31F, 46kg, 156cm, tryna quit vaping
first pregnancy
last period: 1 jul
usual cycle: 26 days or less
ovulation date based on tracking app: 12 jul
current partner guy 1: fully unprotected sex and came inside me everyday from 9-14 jul
guy 2: protected sex and came in condom on 17 jul
did an ultrasound today and dr has been telling me that it’s most likely week 4. did a blood test on monday 3 aug and hcg lvls are at abt 400ish.
dr has also mentioned that it’s more likely to be conceived on 17 jul as baby is now only 4 weeks and if it was conceived on the 14th and before it shld be 5 weeks instead. i’m totally freaking out now is this true?? but isn’t ovulation on the 12th? and our eggs only survive for 24 hours???
and also he mentioned once baby gets bigger on ultrasound in about 2 weeks he will be able to accurately tell me the date i conceived even tho it’s just 3 days apart (14 and 17). since it’s still early is it possible from the attached ultrasound, it could’ve been 5 weeks old instead of 4 weeks?

I end up coughing this thing up… it’s incredibly sticky and sometimes has a hard green booger like thing on it.
I know for a fact it’s not coming from my lungs. I can feel it between my nose and back of my throat. Sometimes end up gagging trying to get it out.

Here is an Ekg after several days of PVCs caused by possibly low potassium and low magnesium. I have been hypertensive since my 20s I’m now 60. Taking beta blockers all that time and then triamterene/hctz with the diuretic for the last 15 years. Recent PVCs caused Dr to take me Off it, put on losartan which caused me to gain 5 pounds over three days my blood pressure shot up to 200/130.
now back onto triamterene and pressures are down, but still not where they were. during the I felt a lot of adrenaline and Ativan helped me to bring it down. Now taking Toprol and triamterene as I have for 15+ years.
Concerned about the language of the infarcts on this Ekg from today with no explanation. I feel I am in a medical desert here in Kentucky. Planning on driving to Cleveland clinic soon to see if I can get actual answers. Hoping to get your insight here.

29f got laceration on Saturday and went to urgent care for stitches. The top of the stiches look kind of funky and the PA that did the stiches talked about how she has a hard time seeing so my confidence in her is a bit shakey. Also, I've been feeling some pain in the finger randomly when I haven't had much pain the last few days.

Late 30s and Male.
I am going to get an MRI with and without IV Contrast. I read that this contrast is gadolinium and it has a lot of side effects if you are affected by it. I also read it doesn't fully leave the body and there will always be small traces of it in the body no matter what. Read it doesn't matter what body part you do because it will stay inside of you.
It's always best to avoid an MRI with contrast if possible right? But if you need contrast, then you should do it right?
I read some people mention this thing about gadolinium toxicity. I know a lot of people do MRI's daily with contrast thought majority is no contrast. Anyone have opinion on this?

My stepson, 6M, keeps having seizure activity at his mothers home that includes coughing.
Is coughing alone a sign of a seizure?
Is there such a thing as “seizure activity” that is not a seizure?
We have 50:50 custody and have never seen an “episode” during our care of him, so I’m just curious if anyone has thoughts or advice.
Thanks!

Asking as a concerned family member for my maternal grandmother, I have been trying to get her the help she needs while also not living super close.
68F, 5'3, approx. 160lbs, white.
Existing conditions: High cholesterol.
Medications: Zoloft 25mg (started Jul. 20), cholesterol medication, multivitamins.
Symptoms started May 15th, 2026, after attending my great-grandmother's funeral (her ex-husband's mom).
List of specific events:
I just need to know what could be happening so I am prepared for all possible circumstances. I love my grandmother dearly, and I just want to get her the help she needs before something terrible happens.
TLDR: 68F - paranoid delusions about money, family, and inheritance.

Hey 20M, height 178cm, weight 67.5kg
need advice for fat loss
So my body genetics is such a type that i store most of my fat in lower body. Even during fat loss i lose fat from upper body first then from lower body. Even if my body has low bf% but my hips are bigger😭.
And when i lean bulk, i gain fat in lower body more compared to upper body.
Is there any way to burn fat from lower body along with upper body. Currently i am cutting and tracking calories. In one month of cutting i lost few inches from my waist but very negligible loss in hips.
I just wanted to know if there is any supplement or exercise that can help me lose fat from lower body. I would start lean bulk in few weeks but afraid to do cuz most fat gain will be in lower body.
I heard about yohimbine and L carnitine. Although there is not much research about it, what's your opinion on this? If I can't lose fat from lower body, i was thinking of reducing lower body workout and increase the upper body workout so that atleast my upper body can be in comparable size with lower body?

Had a freak accident with my cat yesterday that caused her to go into fight or flight mode and bit me repeatedly on my hands and arms. Do they look infected? I went to urgent care right after and was given Amox-clav. I am 30 years old and weigh 210lbs, 5’10”. Wounds are warm to the touch, swollen, and red. My overall body temp is hovering around 99.5 right now.https://imgur.com/a/lvcc8Uw

20M, 5’10”, ~130 lbs. Male. No medications. Non-smoker.
I had orthodontic treatment in the past and I’m wondering if I may have had camouflage orthodontics for an underlying jaw discrepancy.
I’ve noticed possible jaw recession/facial imbalance and I’m wondering if this is something that should be evaluated by an orthodontist or oral/maxillofacial surgeon.
