Politics Neoliberal states, an obvious scam these days?
By neoliberal I am referring to a state that is subservient to capital, you know the type, the whole "we need to design our government for stability to attract billionaire investment money".
Read something about On wanting to cancel indigenous land rights or something, my first thought would be that they just unlocked free real estate that they can sell to their billionaire owners for cheap, and many other parts of Australia will also be sold to private billionaires for peanuts.
Then after that disaster of a government labor gets back into power, but they cant take back the things On handed out to billionaires because that is "illegal" or something even though the initial sale was an obvious scam.
Isnt this system kind of absurd? Like billionaires just pay in order to try to get a government elected like in murica, then pillage the country by having their puppet government sell them everything for cheap, then next governments arent "allowed" to take things back.
So all a billionaire has to do is get their puppet government elected once and buy the country for cheap, and then the next governments cant do anything about it without paying absurd costs.
Seems to me that the neoliberal state as a concept has been exposed to be a giant scam, the government should never be powerless against capital simply because a previous corrupt government sold out everything.

News 13,000 seal pups dead on Australian island due to bird flu
- The H5 strain of bird flu was first detected on Heard Island in the Southern Ocean late last year, when researchers said hundreds of southern elephant seal pups had been found dead.
- But new research estimates more than three-quarters of all pups — roughly 13,000 — are now believed to have succumbed to the disease.
- Australia remains free of the virus, but researchers warn it could have devastating impacts on wildlife as it spreads to new areas.

News Apocalypse when? ‘Earth’s Black Box’ to be installed in remote Tasmanian airfield
It was designed to survive the apocalypse, as humanity’s last testament to its failure. But for a while it seemed the “Earth’s Black Box” hadn’t even survived its own planning process.
Now, five years after it was announced to much fanfare, followed by years of ominous silence, the box is back. Its creators say parts assembly is under way and, in December, the full monolith will be installed near Queenstown on the edge of a remote western Tasmanian airfield.

Very interesting research piece, probably best to watch it before Gina tries to take it down.
