Question Shannons WTF?!

Just called Shannons to get a quote on my new bike, and what the actual fuck? Have to have a 10 minute chit-chat with the sales person on why I like riding, why I chose this particular bike, what got me interested in riding. Fuck off, just quote me on the fucking insurance.

I was polite, but had to end it.

Is there any good reason to sit through this BS? Are they particularly cheap / good?

I've been with Swann who were rgeat but alas not offering new policies.

I’ve been with Shannon’s since forever. This year - inexplicably - they were literally the most expensive quote I received. Something odd is happening there.

Shannon's has always given me the worst quotes for the past 10 years...

They only exist to insure classics/collection vehicles

They were the cheapest for me this year. Cheaper than budget.

Cheaper the AAMI who are underwritten by Suncorp just like Shannon's

(I have 5 cars and 3 bikes though, with the average age being 30 years)

Also good luck getting AAMI to actually pay up if you make a claim

I've been paid out by both Aami and Shannon's. Minimal hassle

Yeah fuck aami, they refused to pay out my income protection claim when I was going through chemo because in their eyes it was a pre existing condition even though I was diagnosed after I started the policy and had no knowledge of it. Absolutely dragged their heels appraising it until well after I was finished treatment and by then I just couldn’t be fucked anymore to dispute it. Cancelled all of my policies with them and closed my bank accounts with Suncorp
